Walking out of Piltover and into the Undercity is strange, watching it slowly fade from cleanliness and the riches to smog, dirt and sweat. The disparity, how the council left us further and further behind. Especially with Hextech.
When in the Lanes, it takes me a while to find the air ducts, especially since I'm looking for the old ones. They twist and turn towards the surface, traces of the Grey making my eyes water. What is Jinx planning down here?
I know I'm getting closer as I find more and more doodles getting deeper in the ducts. Turning a corner, I hear Vi and Caitlyn talking in the near distance. I run to catch up to them, slowing as I get closer. I stop just behind the corner, listening in even though I shouldn't.
"I think we should cut the others loose. If that Heenot idiot was telling the truth, Jinx is gonna have surprises in store for us."
"All the more reason to bring backup." Cait counters.
"She'll smell their nerves a mile away and find away to use them against us. Tell me I'm wrong."
"I can't let her get away again. What about Brandy?"
"She's stronger than me... she can do this better than you and me."
"She'd get more injured."
"But she'd go for longer. When she fights, she fights until she can't anymore."
Caitlyn hesitates. It stings slightly that she doubts me but I know that she's just scared of all the possibilities. "Are you sure you're ready to-"
"My sister is gone." On one end, my heart swells with a sort of pride as she accepts that Powder changed to the girl she is today; Jinx. Yet on the other hand, it sours and bitters as I realise Vi has let go of what she's been clinging to for so many years. "There's only Jinx now. It has to end."
