Brandy's POV~

Me and Jinx stay walking arm in arm as we mosey on down the mine. The kid leads the way as Vi blindly follows her. Me and Jinx chat about things we've still to get caught up on in eachothers lives, Jinx more so than me, seeing as she had the more interesting life actually outside. We giggle through inside jokes and little moments which make my side sting but I don't really mind it. I'm happy, with my best friend, my girlfriend and their adoptive younger sibling.
Isha runs her hands through clawed grooves in a door and Vi gently moves her so she can get the door open. As she kicks it through, the fungi light up the room to show a wardrobe towards the back and a small desk in the centre. Scattered along the sides are various belongings and sentimental peices, most notably, a large quantity of gauntlets like the ones Vander used to use.
Jinx slowly slips her arm from mine, smile dropping as she approaches a pair of jackets hung on the wardrobe. She examines them momentarily before taking a sleeve and sniffing it. I come up behind her, seeing he initials V and S inside the jackets. I gently place my hand on her lower back and stroke small, soothing circles there.
I hear the hiss of Vi's gauntlets, followed by a harsh thunk as she takes them off. I turn to see her pick up a peice of paper from the table in the centre and read it to herself. Jinx turns also, her interest peaked.
"What is it?" She asks, stepping towards Vi.
"A message from Vander... to Silco." Vi grunts, discarding the paper on the table and stepping back. I sigh heavily and step behind Vi, wrapping my arms gently around her waist and setting my head on her shoulder. She almost does a sort of sigh of relief and leans back against me as the two of us gently sway.
I hear the chair behind us scrape against the floor as Jinx sits in it, taking the note and reading it aloud. "Silco, I've looked everywhere but it's clear you don't wanna be found."
I close my eyes tight and scrunch my face together as tears threaten to prick at my eyes, memories flooding back of Vander. It's strange how everyone speaks of him in such an idolised way, I can only remember him as someone who cared. And maybe that was enough, it's certainly enough for me.
"God, I'm shit at this. I'm sorry. When she died, I lost my head. I told myself what I did to you was for the greater good, that you deserved it. But the dirt was on both our hands. Anyway, you know where to find me. Blisters and bedrock. V." Jinx finishes, tossing the note back and leaning her head in her hand.
I step back away from Violet and kneel next to her sister, placing my hand on her arm and tracing gentle circles with my thumb. "If he found this... everything might've been different." She says with wide eyes, turning to me as if I could do something to change it. My brows furrow and I see Vi reach out a hand from the corner er of my eye but retract it.
"That's a good way to drive yourself crazy." I whisper to her as Vi puts her gauntlets back on beside me before heading out the small room. I smile at Jinx and nod towards Isha before running off after Vi.
"Vi. Let them go ahead, Isha loves exploring." I state as the younger two walk passed us.
"What's up?" She asks with a small smirk. "Come on, I know you, what is it?"
"Nothing really... I missed you. You know there wasn't a moment in that cave where I wasn't thinking of you."
"Oh yeah?" She replies smugly. "Think of me even more when you were alone?"
"Oh shut up."
"What? I'm just asking."
"Well, it's a stupid question."
She chuckles softly, but as it does down, I can see her hesitate slightly too. "I couldn't stop thinking about you either. I missed you too... I couldn't not think about Caitlyn either." I grimace at the name but I don't say a word, letting her finish. "She was always screaming at me in my head... but you always told me not to listen."
"First time I see her, I'll punch her."
"I don't doubt it." She chuckles before pulling me in and kissing me. Her hands actively avoid my waist, wrapping around my neck for once, her hands falling heavy with the gauntlets weighing her down. I smile into the kiss and snake my arms around her waist instead.
I hear a groan from Jinx causing me to pull back with a smirk, sticking my tongue out at her. I continue to walk beside my girlfriend with the two youngest leading as Isha claps periodically to keep the caves alight. It's a quiet walk but eventually...
The cave lights before Isha can even clap.
And then echos the roar.
