Buzz.

Snooze!

Buzz.

Snooze!

Buzz.

"What the hell -" I yell in sleep as my phone buzzes again. I don't want to wake up.

It's warm and secure here.

"Lavanya!" I call out, my hands reaching on the other side of the bed.

"Lavanya?" I turn my head, only to find myself alone in my room. She's gone.

Was it a dream?
Didn't Love come last night to me and professed that she's mine and that she has forgiven me?

"No! Please it needs to be true. No way it was a dream." Sweat beads trickle down my face, as I push away the blanket.

I checked the washroom and ran down the stairs. The broken glass pieces in my lawn, the red knife I was holding last night, and most importantly Natasha's birthday cake, I found it all.

I found it all being cleaned up.

"Sir, I have cleaned it all as per the orders of Miss Lavanya." My house help speaks with a smile as I look at her mopping the floor.

"That cake?"

"She asked me to dump it in the dustbin straight." She replies rather clueless, reading my expressions, mistaking that I'm furious.

But that's Lavanya Sinha's order. And how can I be furious over her orders which are never wrong.

"It's alright." I stutter and glance over the dustbin where the cake is dumped.

Without any mercy.

It feels like Lavanya just didn't dump the cake but also a part of my bitter past with it.

"She has prepared breakfast for you and has left you a sweet note. You are lucky Mr. Raichand." My housekeeper's sweet voice brings me back to reality.

"What? Where?" I ask hastily.

"The table..."

I almost fly to where her finger points, before she can complete her sentence. I'm dying for Lavanya.

"Miss me while having your breakfast. I'll be back to you by afternoon."

Her note reads, which I found placed neatly near the hand cooked breakfast in my dining room.

"Oh Lavanya!" I let out a sigh of relief. She drives me real crazy.

I can't help but go through all the memories of the last four years. From Natasha declaring about her extra marital affair with Aditya, her death, Lavanya printing it in her newspaper, me threatening her for the same and meeting her for the first time, and then walking into her again as she became my boss, the foul play of love and deceit and then eventually falling for her, to waiting for her forgiveness since last two years.

It was a ride.

Who could have thought that I'll fall for someone I call my enemy?
Lavanya from day one, has tested my patience, my sanity and mesmerized me with her confidence and righteousness.

We both made mistakes, but we are over them.

Most importantly, she has accepted me with my mistakes and sins which I promise to never ever repeat. What's in the past will stay in the past.

I will never harm Lavanya. Even if she decides to walk away someday, or falls out of love I'll send her away from me. The most I'll do is to try talking to her if any misunderstanding happens.
