roomies !!

hoseok: @y/n when will you come home?

jungkook: yea! we miss you and stuff...

namjoon: driving to and back from work alone is boring, sweetheart.

you looked at their messages in the group chat with an aching heart. despite the reassurance from navi, you needed time and space away from the men who were quickly taking over your heart and mind. you packed clothes for two nights maximum, but without realising it, you've been sleeping at your best friend's house for almost a week.

"i think i'll go home with namjoon," you said suddenly, causing your best friend's head to shoot up from her phone. the two of you were leaving the building after a long day of classes. going to school almost every day was starting to get really exhausting, and you couldn't wait to graduate.

"not that i dislike having you around, but fucking, finally," she groaned, causing you to laugh. "i can finally be with my girls. god, i've missed them."

you missed your roommates who were becoming more than that. you weren't sure how to define what you had with them, but whatever it was, you missed it. from going home with namjoon, helping whoever's turn it was to make dinner, to sitting on jimin's lap on the couch or cuddling between taehyung and jungkook. you missed everything.

"since we both have any classes left, you can go to your girlfriends now," you told her. navi — being the amazing girl she is, decided to focus entirely on you while you stayed at her place. you knew she missed seeing her girls and having dinner with them after a long day. you would tell her to go, but she wouldn't budge, choosing to watch poorly made movies while you ate dinner or ice cream on her couch. "you can stop worrying about me and finally spend time with seolhwa and byeol. i can always get my stuff another time or whatever."

you couldn't help but laugh again as she excitedly returned to her phone to make a call. you watched her face lift up as one of—if not both her girlfriends picked up the phone. you weren't sure if she was talking to one of them or both, but you loved the look on her face. seeing your best friend so happy made you happy. she was the platonic love of your life, and you wanted nothing but the best for her. seeing her so joyful over the idea of seeing her girlfriends made you realise how badly you wanted to see the guys.

you needed to see namjoon.

kim namjoon loved his job. he enjoyed sharing the knowledge he'd gained with others eager to learn. his students often reminded him of his younger self, even though he wasn't much older than they were. despite loving it, he hated the marking he was required to do. the assignments, the tests, the endless lengthy essays. he hated it all and would rather be at home with one of his lovers in his arms or in one of theirs.

groaning, namjoon ran his fingers through his long silver hair and leaned back in his office chair. he looked at his desk cluttered with papers, a half-empty coffee mug, and sticky notes scribbled with reminders he'd probably ignore, defeated. it was only tuesday, but he felt exhausted and desperately needed a break.

he swivelled his chair to face the window, letting his eyes wander to the campus below. students walked in pairs or small groups. he could barely hear their chatter and laughter from his office. the scene was peaceful compared to the chaos on his desk.

a small smile grew on his face as his mind wandered to thoughts of home—not just the physical space but the people who made it feel that way. seokjin's laughter came to mind, bright and infectious. jungkook or hoseok's comforting hugs always made him feel better after a long day. he leaned back in his chair, letting out a deep sigh. if he needed anything right now, it would be to go home with you. he missed the conversations you'd have that helped him wind down as he drove home. he missed you. other than an occasional good morning or goodnight text, you hadn't really spoken to him since you decided to sleep at navi's place, other than an occasional greeting text. you weren't in any of the classes he taught, so he hardly saw you around campus. and when he did, it was always from afar.
