This place is weird, you think. You're probably only six hours away from the mountains yet you're walking through a swamp. What's with this landscape?

You've continued walking with Happy flying above you, and Gray... who knows where he is ...

You let out a soft sigh. You and Gray have always fought, but for some reason it was different this time. You tell yourself that you're better off without that pest slowing you down, but inside, you know that's not true. A part of you is worried, and somewhere, deep, down, you want him there...really, really deep down. Besides, it's boring without him.

The leaves rustle behind you, alerting your senses. You can smell it, something's there, and it isn't smell human. You brace yourself for a fight. The monster jumps out and you swing your burning first, stopping short only to realize you are attacking a frog. A frog. This is definitely a new low.

"AH!!HAHAHAHAHA!!" Happy feel out of the sky in fits of laughter, " YOU PUNCHED A FROOOOG! AHAHAHAHA!!" He was rolling on the ground laughing.

"Shut up, you stupid cat!!"

"HAHAHAHAHA!!"

"Why, you-" the small half dead frog grew into some kind of huge frog monster, at least five times bigger than you. "What the heck!!"

"Ah! You made him angry!" Happy hid behind you. The frog monster jumped at you. Fortunately, you have a plan: run!

It chases after you with incredible speed. It's tongue shoots at you but misses, burning a tree in front of you. Yikes!

"Don't let it touch you!" You yell at Happy. Dang it! How are you gonna beat this thing?

"Fire Dragon, Iron Fist!" You land a hit on its large stomach, only to have the impact bounce back at you, sending you flying. Happy catches you and flies you back.

"Now I'm all fired up! Fire Dragon, ROAR!!" You spit fire at the thing, and this time it works.

"You sound just like Natsu!" Happy exclaims.

"Do not!" You yell back.

"There it is again!!"

"Shut up you-" the monster hits a huge tree and it falls over, catching you in it's branches.

"Damn it, I'm stuck! Happy!" You frantically try to escape as the frog bounds towards you. Shit! Happy tries to tug you out, but it's no use. Starting to panic, you yell at the cat,"Hurry!"

"I'm trying! You're just-"

"Move!" You shove him out of the way as the frog gets closer and brace yourself.

"Ice make: shield!"

Gray! Finally tearing away from the tree, you grab his wrist and run. Once your far enough, you stop and turn around, ready to fight. You send gray a look that says thanks, but I'm still mad.

"Fire Dragon Iron Fist!"

"Ice Make: Cannon!"

You and Gray send one attack after another, all the while dodging it's poisonous tongue. You fight surprisingly well together - usually you're fighting against each other, not side by side.

Gray dodges his poisonous tongue, but it still manages to graze his shoulder, causing him to double over in pain.

"Gray!" You spare him a glance before finishing the beast. "Fire Dragon, Wing Attack!" With this last powerful attack, the monster falls.

"Gray!" He tries to sit up, but the pain pushes him back down. It's just his shoulder, but you can tell it's really bad. "Idiot," you mutter.

"We won't be able to move tonight. We'll set up a camp and I'll see what I can do for him right now. We'll go back to the village in the morning."

"Aye," Happy says.

"Wait," Gray says, "you're not abandoning the job for me, I'll be okay, I'll-"

"You'll what, Gray? You can hardly sit up, let alone fight or even walk! If you were to continue with us, we'd all be in danger. You're staying here, the job can wait." You are as surprised by your own attitude as Gray is, but you're too worried to care.

"I can-"

"Go to the village yourself? And risk your life?! I don't think so. Now just lie down." You take a look at the supplies in your bag and pull out a bottle of white pills.

"This should help with the pain, and it's an anti-venom, so it should help counter the poison." He struggles to prop himself up on his good arm. Momentarily forgetting his injury, he attempts to reach out with his other arm, but then winces at the pain.

"Here," you hold out your hand to feed him the pill. He looks surprised at first but takes it. His cool lips touching your fingers. You tried to hide your pink cheeks behind your hair as you help him with his water. You notice that he's blushing too.

The two of you just look at each other for a moment, and there's a weird feeling in your stomach. Its probably just from fighting, you assure yourself.

"Right then," you finally say, "I'm going to try and clean the wound before I wrap it. This might hurt," you warn him. He nods to signal he's ready. You dab at it it with the little supplies you have, every so often Gray winces in pain. He looks at you in a way that makes you blush brighter then cherries and intensifies the odd feeling in your gut - and this time you know it's not from embarrassment or exhaustion.

"(F/n)," he calls as you begin to go away. He still has that strange look in his eyes. "Thank you, and... I'm sorry, about everything."

"Me too," you say. "Get some rest," you lie down on your blanket a couple feet away from him. When did you start liking him like this?

"Gray?" Happy says.

"Huh?"

"You looooove her!" The cat yells. You blush furiously.

"Shut up you stupid cat!!" You and Gray shout at the same time.

"Don't copy me!" You say in unison again.

"Stop it, Ice boy!"

"You wanna go, fireball!?"

"Oh, be quiet. You can't even stand, now let me get some sleep!"

Natsu: ...she stole my catch phrase...

Happy: You're really clueless, aren't you?

Natsu: wait...WHAT DID YOU DO?!?! *runs at author with flaming fists *

Lucy: What's he so worked up about?

Happy: I don't think he has a reason ...

Author: *running for her life* Don't forget to- AAH!

Lucy: That can't be good...

Happy: Aye! I think she was gonna say vote!
