The camping trip was his idea. You, him, a group of friends, and a circle of tents in the middle of the creepy camp ground. Each person had brought their own tent and since you and Lou were only friends, not a couple or anything, you had separate tents. At first that didn't bother you; you liked your privacy just as much as the next person, but after sitting out around the fire and listening to the ghost stories of your friends, you didn't want to be alone. You sat out in the firelight until mostly everyone had gone back to their tents to sleep. When it was only you and Louis left, he stood up, grabbing the pail of water to douse the fire.

"Wait!" you grabbed onto his wrist.

"Will you come sleep with me tonight?" The orange glow of the flames revealed his grin as he nodded. "I just want to sleep, Lou."

"Of course, I knew that." He poured the water over the flames, plunging the campsite into darkness. His fingers slotted between yours and he led you over to his tent, carefully helping you inside and zipping you into his sleeping bag with him.

"I'll keep you safe from the scary monsters, Y/N." He promised, keeping his hand wrapped around yours.
