Chapter 55

I quickly make my way over with a wave as Keiichi slows his pace to let me get to his side. "We've got an executives meeting now" I say as Keiichi raises a brow obviously not normally being left out of meeting decisions. "Who decided that" he asks while pushing his glasses up and looking over at me. "I think you'll understand once you get there to be honest" I say which make Keiichi sigh at the lack of explanation. He doesn't push it though seemingly understanding that there's something I can't talk about right now which will become clear later.

"Alright I'll go and find Mira then meet you there" Keiichi says as I thank him already glad I didn't need to find Mira since she still creeped me out. I head upstairs making sure to keep an eye out for anyone that I needed to bring but reach a dead end as I reach the executives room. I enter after a knock and instantly notices Aguni's glance towards me in a cold manner which makes me take a nervous gulp. "I need to ask you some questions about what happened" Aguni says plainly as the three citizens shake a little where they stand.

"Of course what's up" I say casually before Aguni's eyes drift to the three standing by the wall as they scurry out of the room for now. "What happened from your perspective" he asks as I look at the body bag now unzipped on the table. "I saw them come back and drive around to the back which was odd so I went to check what was happening and found Hatters body in the car boot" I say trying my best to stay calm as I'm left alone in the room with Aguni.

"And what do you think about the circumstance" Aguni asks while he keeps his eyes on me as if I were some form of prey to him in this moment. "It likely happened during the game" I say looking down at the bullet wound in Hatters chest. "Don't lie to me" Aguni speaks in a low threatening tone as my chest tightens unsure if he wanted me to be honest or not. Aguni unlike everyone else at the beach was not an open book that was simple for me to decipher.

As I look at him trying to figure him out I see the cold glare he's sending across the table at me as I piece it together. "It was an accident. Hatter wanted me at his game to keep him safe but it was a spades game and I couldn't protect him in the end" I say with a small shaky breath as Aguni continues to look at me expecting better. "He was going into kill me to I killed him first with a swift shit to the heart so he'd die quickly" I say as Aguni finally nods a little and motions to his side.

I understand as I walk over to stand behind his chair as I look ahead while feeling dread setting in my stomach. I stay silent until the room starts filling bit by bit with the executives of the beach. Each enter with a look of confusion before seeing the body of our number one and piecing it all together. My mind was numb to the conversation that had started flowing after Ann approached Hatters body. I snap back to reality as I see Niragi raise his gun up to Chishiya.

"And what about you" Niragi asks stil taking a few steps towards the blonde. Chishiya stands there in silence with a slightly smug look on his face. "Chishiya you're not looking down on us, are ya?" Niragi questions as he pulls the barrel of the gun up and takes a few steps closer again in an attempt to intimidate Chishiya. "Y'all morons in the corps?" Chishiya answers as I send a sharp glare to the blonde just wishing he would just agree simply to this.

In a swift movement Niragi's gun moves under Chishiya's chin as I can feel Niragi's annoyance growing by the second. "Those eyes of your piss me off sometimes, you know that?" Niragi says in a slightly lower tone than before as a Chishiya doesn't seem to be backing down anytime soon. "You really think you're better than us, don't ya?" Niragi says his finger hovering over the trigger of the gun. "We've already got one body to deal with lets not add another" I say sharply as Niragi glances over while I send a cold glare towards Chishiya.

I obviously didn't want Chishiya lying dead on the carpeted floor but the main reason I stepped in was to try and keep Niragi's hand clean since I didn't want him following in my footsteps when I already knew it was the wrong path. Chishiya keeps his eyes locked onto Niragi before raising his arms up in defeat. "I vote for Aguni to be the leader" Chishiya says still holding onto that smug tone of voice though.
