Ulrich stylishly swung his sword to the side getting rid of the excess blood, then rested the blade between forearm and bicep, sliding it across, cleaning the rest, finally sheathing his sword once done.
"That takes care of things in my end. I don't sense any more demons around." Ulrich scanned the place.
A sense of weakness afflicted his bones and flesh, making the hunter suddenly stumble and fall on his knees, breathing rapidly.
"Using the 'fake death' concoction is a little too much, but the attacks from those annoying spiders must've been a venomous too, that might have exceeded my limit." He thought, struggling to get himself back up.
"Well...there's a pretty face I wouldn't forget."
In the middle of the dark and creepy forest, the sweet angelic voice of a woman the hunter had met before graced his ears.
Ulrich looked around, searching for where it came from, when she literally fell out of the sky right in front of him, descending like a guardian angel.
"Hello again, Ulrich! Beautiful night, isn't it?" Shinobu smiled as she landed on the ground in front of him. "You look a little worse for wear, I hope you didn't run into too much trouble for you to handle?"
"Unfortunately," Ulrich forced himself back up, with shaking muscles and a full heart, "the damage was mostly done by myself. I couldn't match this particular demon's speed, so I drank a concoction of my own design mixed to make it look like I died, the venom did the rest." He explained, showing the small vial.
"I see." Shinobu touched her chin, curiously looking closer at the concoction. "I heard of such venom, and I think I might have something of use to you!" Smiled Shinobu, looking through the inside pockets of her uniform, grabbing a small vial of her own. "An antidote! It might not cure you right away, but it can at least help lowering the effects so that you may recover by yourself!"
"Really?" Ulrich took the vial, looking marveled. "That's amazing, I'll owe you one. Thanks, Ms. Shinobu!"
"Oh, please. I already told you, no need for formalities, Ulrich. Kocho is fine, it's only fair!" Shinobu waved it off, smiling. "You can thank me by teaching me how to bake that sweet cake you made us the other day!"
"Absolutely, I'll be happy to!" Ulrich smiled.
Shinobu then looked around the forest. "Say... this Demon you killed, wouldn't happen to be one of the Twelve Kizuki, right? One of the lower ranks?"
"Lower rank??" Ulrich didn't understand. "Oh, that's right!" He slapped his own forehead as he remembered what the Hashira taught him. "The Twelve Kizuki!" Suddenly his eyes grew wider. "There's one of them here?!"
"Possibly. Is something wrong?" She wondered.
"No, not at all. It's just that I arrived here with four other Demon Slayers, we split up following different demons, they might be in trouble!"
"As it happens, I found one of your friends after setting off to find you. If there are others, we must indeed proceed quickly." Shinobu then turned back, already running off in the other direction. "You'll be fine once the antidote take effect!"
