Leah's POV

The weekend passed and it was relaxing. I took my time to think about everything, to make decisions and to just get used to the idea of being single again.

It certainly is weird, I mean I loved Cam so very much, I still do. It's just not the same anymore, I don't know if that makes any sense. But I was determined about what I needed to do.

So on Monday, I went to Cam's house. I decided I wanted to keep our best friends relationship. I knocked on the door and quickly the door opened, revealing Cam's dad. "Leah? Well we didn't expect you here."

"I know... Can I come in?"

He stepped aside, letting me in. He walked to the kitchen and so I followed him, knowing Cam and her mother will be there too. "Look who's here." he said as we entered the kitchen.

"Leah?" Cam said, gasping. "What are you doing here?"

I walked to her. "I just wanted to go to school together." I said and showed her a small smile.

She smiled back and nodded. "Seems like a good idea."

I smiled back until I saw Cam's parents looking at me. "Uhm... Is there something wrong?"

"Yes, of course there is!" her mom said, raising her voice a little. "Why have you broken up?"

Cam sighed, she obviously didn't want her parents to talk about it. "I just didn't felt it anymore." I said, being really honest. It's like I said, I didn't want to lose Cam.

"Then why hurt her even more by visiting her?" her dad asked.

I looked down, what was I supposed to say? I didn't want to hurt her, I just tried keeping the connection we had.

"Leave her alone." Cam said, defending me. "I already told you two I was fine with her decision." she said to which I looked at her. "I get her decision."

"But sweetie, she - "

"No!" Cam said, raising her voice. "Just stop!"

"If that's what you want..." her dad said to which Cam nodded.

After that, Cam finished breakfast and so we walked to school together. "Thanks."

"What for?" she asked, looking at me.

I looked at her. "Defending me."

She smiled. "It's alright, Leah."

After that we went silent again, and I hated it. I wanted us to be friend again, we once were really good friends. "Cam?"

"Yeah?"

"I know you said to your parents you were fine with my decision... But are you really?" I asked, looking at her.

She looked down and gulped a few time. Slowly she shook her head no and that's when I saw her crying.

I stopped walking and pulled her in for a hug. "It's alright, we can still be friends."

"I know, but I want more." she said to which I looked away. "Leah, we've loved each other in so many ways. I want you back, and I won't stop until I have you back." she said and seemed determined to do so."

I sighed and let go of her. "I'm sorry, I'm not interested."

"Wait and see." she said.

_______________________________

School went fine. I had thought it would get harder without Cam by my side, but it's fine. My friends did ask some more about Cam and I. I've told them what I thought about it: that I didn't felt the same way anymore. They were kinda disappointed and felt bad for Cam, but they understood me too.

During lunch Cam sat with us, and that's when my friends looked at the both of us. I wonder what they had expected, a fight? I knew Cam and me were going to work this out and it seemed she felt a lot better. Maybe a little to good since she started flirting with me again...

My friends were, just as me, surprised that Cam would do this, but thinking about it now... I knew she did that because she wanted me back.

Last period, Math. I honestly couldn't wait to talk to Miss Jacobs again. I don't know what it is, but I liked talking to her. She could help me and give me advice, just like my friends, but she was on the outside. She could see things my friends couldn't.

So after class, I waited for people to leave. And when they were gone, Miss Jacobs smiled at me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think she likes our conversations too...

"Hey Leah." she said and smiled.

I smiled and sat down onto a nearby desk. "Hey Miss Jacobs."

She stood up and walked in front of me. She sat down onto her desk, probably to be closer to me. "So, how are things now?"

I shrugged.

"What's wrong?"

I sighed deep. "I thought things were alright." I said to which she nodded. "But Cam's being... I don't know, she just can't let go."

"Understandable."

I looked at her. "How so?"

"Because she loves you and come on, look at you, who wouldn't fight for you." she said and smiled polite.

I blushed a little. "Well thanks, Miss."

As if she caught my expression, she blushed too. "You're welcome."

I smiled. "Well we've talked a lot about me, but I don't know anything about you." I said, I knew it was a risk to say that, but Miss Jacobs wasn't a stern teacher.

She looked at me, right in the eyes. "What do you want to know?"

My eyes widened a little, I never thought she'd actually answer my questions... "How old are you?"

She laughed a little. "Always that question... Well guess."

I looked at her, up and down. She doesn't seem that old at all. She's very young, I guess. "25."

"Well thanks." she said and laughed a little.

"So I'm right?"

"Nope, I'm 23."

My mouth dropped. "23? That's young." She smiled but looked down, I think she's insecure. "You must be so smart."

She looked up and smiled. "I don't think so."

"Yes you are, you're teaching Math..." I said and groaned. "I don't get that subject."

She laughed. "It isn't that bad actually. And you're making progress."

I looked at her. "Yeah, instead of a 3 out of 10, I score a 4 out of 10. Amazing progress!" I said sarcastic.

She laughed. "It is something at least."

I laughed alongside her. "Can I ask you one more question?"

She nodded.

"What's your name?"

She looked at me, she seemed to think about this one longer than the previous question.

"If you don't feel comfortable answering, it's fine." I said, I wanted to make sure she understood that.

She smiled and nodded. "It's fine." she said. "My name's Talia."
