the smell of sizzling bacon and fresh coffee filled the air as the morning sun filtered through the tall windows. it was a quiet buzz compared to the chaos of last night's argument, and kyorin was more than happy to soak it in. she, nari, and yoojin had gathered around a table, their trays piled high with the breakfast of their choosing; a reward for winning their portion of the scavenger hunt.

kyorin dug into her plate, savoring each bite of scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. nari was bouncing in her seat, already on her second stack of pancakes, while yoojin sipped her coffee, scanning the room with a distracted expression.

"so, how's it been sleeping in the same room as chaerin?" nari asked, glancing over at kyorin with a mischievous smile. her tone was teasing, but there was a hint of genuine curiosity in it.

kyorin froze, her fork halfway to her mouth, and for a brief moment, she considered just ignoring the question. but, of course, nari wasn't one to let things slide. she set her fork down with a small sigh, rolling her eyes.

"honestly? i'm just trying to enjoy my food," kyorin muttered, her voice flat. the tension from the previous night still lingered, and the last thing she wanted was to talk about chaerin right now. "can we just focus on the fact that we won the scavenger hunt and got to pick whatever we want for breakfast?"

yoojin chuckled from across the table, her eyes flicking over to where sunghoon was standing by the buffet line. "i'll focus on this instead," she said with a small nod toward the stack of perfectly made s'mores sunghoon was assembling at the other end of the room. "i'm starting to get a craving for one of those, too."

kyorin's gaze followed yoojin's, and her lips curled into a grin. "you just want an excuse to talk to sunghoon, don't you?"

yoojin shrugged, "not at all," she said quickly, but there was no hiding the slight awkwardness in her voice. "he just got out of a relationship, so there's no way he's thinking about anything... soul searching related." she added with a dismissive wave of her hand.

nari's eyes gleamed with mischief. "soul searching, huh?" she teased, leaning in with a playful grin. "so, you're notthinking about having deep and meaningful conversations with him while you toast marshmallows together?"

"no," yoojin replied a little too quickly, her cheeks turning a shade pinker. she shot a glance at sunghoon, who was too busy adjusting the chocolate to notice the three of them. "i'm not even sure that's a thing." she added, clearly trying to steer the conversation away from herself.

kyorin leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow. "really? because it sounds like you're avoiding it." she winked, nudging nari, who laughed loudly at the tease.

yoojin groaned, clearly embarrassed, but at least it lightened the mood. she pushed her plate aside, crossing her arms defensively. "i'm not avoiding anything. i just don't need another thing to think about right now, okay?"
