This was an awfully unforeseen turn of events, outcomes weren't escalating as smoothly as you presumed, much to your dismay. Regardless, you can still pull this off, right? That was like a gnawing mantra repeating through your mind. It occurred the moment your team submerged underwater where the museum was located, just as planned, until...
"It's closed!?" Your peers exclamations synchronized as their expressions varied from bafflement and frustrated disbelief.
"Are you kidding? What awful timing." A grumble simmered in Jack's throat. He attempted to suppress the disappointment seeping through his tough face, however futile for he, just like the rest, began to feel antsy the longer they stared at the large 'CLOSED' sign hanging over the museum's back door.
"Is that why the Leech brothers haven't harassed us at all today? Because they knew?" Deuce grimaced, internally beating himself up for disregarding such a late observation.
"I dunno about that." Ace drew out, lips twitching down into a skeptical frown.
Jack clenched his fists tightly. "Are we really turning tail and going back empty-handed after coming all this way?" He pursed his lips.
You quickly lifted your hand to halt the collective complaints. "Hold on. I've got an idea." You whispered, ushering your group to follow you, discreetly approaching near the main entrance of the marine building. Peeking your head from behind a conveniently close pillar, you noted two mermen guarding on either sides while holding their glistening, golden tridents.
The others mimicked your action, traveling along with your gaze and observing the scene tensely. Grim was the first to speak up, "Mragh! Guess I shouldn't be surprised that merfolk society would have merfolk security guards." He huffed, a mixture of awe and displeasure.
You hummed before nodding contently with the scheme you organized in your brain, which was only visible to you, hence why you're required to explain once more. "Alright. As I've told, I have a plan, albeit rather risky-"
Ace interrupted you with a small scoff. "All your plans are risky, Y/n, literally every single time." He stated, more on teasing rather than any actual bite in his words. He would never confess it, but he actually enjoyed your audacious and dauntless nature. It's a part of your...unique charms.
You merely side-glanced the ginger and continued after a sigh, "As I was saying... I will distract the guards. During that, you three should sneak in behind him, enter inside, and borrow the photo. Understood?" Once concluding, you earned a unity of nods. Prepared to executed your idea, you were just about to swim away, prior to Ace waving his hand to get your attention.
"Hold up! You're not possibly leaving out your favorite Heartslabyul student, are you?" Ace chimed, ignoring the judgmental stare he received from Deuce. He was fortunate none of the other Heartslabyul boys were present, especially the housewarden. "Besides, there's two guards, anyways. It works perfectly. You distract one, I distract the other!" He added.
