I looked around, trying to get the guys or the crowd to yell requests.
"Um, I'm obsessed with a certain song right now. It's one of Shawn's songs, 'Imagination'. So, can we sing that?" I asked, turning to Shawn.
He nodded as he got handed his guitar and the guys headed off the stage. Two stools were put out for us and I sat on the one to the right. Shawn had a microphone stand placed in front of him. A few seconds later, he started to play the first notes on his guitar.
"Oh, there she goes again
Every morning is the same
You walk on by my house
I want to call out your name
I want to tell you how beautiful you are from where I'm standing
You got me thinking what we could be cause
I keep craving, craving you
Don't know it but it's true
Can't get my mouth to say the words they wanna say to you
This is typical of love
Can't wait any more
Won't wait a minute
Tell you how I feel when I see us together forever." Shawn sang. I joined in with him on the chorus.
"In my dreams
You're with me
We'll be everything I want us to be
And from there
Who knows
Maybe this will be the night that we kiss
For the first time
Or is that just me and my
Imagination." we both sang.
I took over the next verse, then we sang the chorus together, and it pretty much switched back and forth between us. The whole time I was singing the song, I kept thinking about Cameron. I wonder if he ever thinks about this song when he's with me. Or his girlfriend, Brooke. Ugh.
"So, how did Anna do?" Nash asked as the guys came back onstage. All I heard was cheers and claps. I smiled at the crowd, trying to make eye contact with every single one of them
"Thanks. That was my first performance in front of this many people. So, thanks Cam." I said, looking back at the brown-haired boy. He smiled and winked at me.
"No problem." he said into the microphone.
For some reason, I blushed and looked away. At the end of the show, I was backstage and laughing at the guys do a dance battle. They stopped and thanked everyone for coming, then came backstage where I was.
I handed them all water bottles and they practically got all of the water down their throats in five seconds.
"How do guys do that?" I wondered out loud.
"Do what?" Taylor asked, squeezing the plastic bottle.
"Drink a whole freaking water bottle in under five seconds." I said, crossing my arms over chest.
"It's a gift." Johnson said, shrugging.
"What, like you and your 'I never miss' basketball gift?" I joked, raising an eyebrow at him.
He nodded in response as we made our way back to the dressing room. As we stepped in, I heard my phone go off. I knew it was mine because it was blaring 'Wild Life' by Jack and Jack.
How embarrassing, they're two feet away from you and you have their song as your ringtone for your best friend. I raced over to my stuff and pulled out my phone.
"Hey, Bella." I said, blushing at Jack and Jack's smirks at me.
"Hey, where are you?" she asked.
"What do you mean? I said that I was going to Cam's show tonight, remember?" I asked, taking a seat in Cameron's chair.
He gave me a playful glare before going to the couch. I stuck my tongue out at him as he sat down.
"Ooh. Cameron's show, huh?" she teased.
"Shut up." I said.
"Cameron and Anna sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, second comes marriage. Third comes Anna with a baby carriage!" she sang like a five-year-old.
"You're such a child, Bella." I said, rolling my eyes.
"You're talking to Bella?" Nash asked quietly next to me. I nodded my head, smirking a little at him.
"Well it's true!" Bella exclaimed.
"What's true?" I asked.
"You and Cameron."
"Bells, he has a girlfriend." I said, lowering my voice so Cameron couldn't hear.
"Can I talk to her?" Nash asked.
"Who was that?" Bella asked. I could imagine her sitting up in her bed, her eyebrows knitted together.
"Nash." I teased. Suddenly, I heard a thump from her side of the phone call.
"He wants to talk to me?" she exclaimed.
"Um, yeah." I laughed.
"Well, put him on!" she yelled.
I laughed again, pulling the phone away from my ear and handing it to Nash. As Nash started talking to Bella, I looked around the dressing room.
Cameron had moved into the bathroom and I could see him just sitting on the counter, looking sort of sad. The rest of the guys were either on their phones, or... nope.
They were all on their phones.
I got up from my chair and went to the bathroom, closing the door behind me. Cameron looked up at the sound of the door closing.
"Hey. You okay?" I asked, leaning back on the wall. Cameron shook his head, getting off the counter and leaning against the counter.
"I found out that Brooke cheated on me. All to get some geek to do her homework for her." he said softly, but a little angrily. I sighed and walked over to Cam, leaning on the counter with him.
"Cam, I'm sorry." I said, putting a hand on his arm. He quickly looked down at my hand then looked at the wall in front of him.
"It's fine, I guess. I just thought that maybe she wasn't like that. I thought that she really did her homework and she was smart. I guess I should've known that something was up when I was talking about Egypt and the pyramids and she thought that the pyramids were in India." he said, chuckling a little at the end. I giggled, pulling my hand off of his arm.
"How'd you find out?" I asked.
"When she went downstairs, her phone went off and I saw it was a text from some guy named Derek and he said 'Did you get an A on the last assignment? What you did last night, you really earned it.' He even added a wink face at the end." Cameron shook his head, standing up to his full height.
"Ouch." I said.
"Then I asked her about it and she completely denied anything happened until I threatened to break up with her. She confessed and then I ended it." he said, shrugging. I felt my heart lift a little. So that means he's single?
"Yes." he said. I creased my eyebrows and looked over at him.
"Yes what?" I asked, confused.
"Yes, that means I'm single." he said, smiling at me before leaving the bathroom.
I felt myself completely blush. He heard me? That's just great.
But he's single, which means that there's still hope for me.
