Prologue

The world was destroyed by humans, bringing the mankind to the brink of extinction. The governments around the world had started forming again, doing everything in their power to protect what was left of the world. New rules had been created, the former way of life completely forgotten.

In the new world where ruthless people hold power and control and those beneath them are nothing but pawns, there is no place for love and feelings.

Love is just a myth, control is real.

a/n: Hiii. For those of you who have already read this, I've decided to change the story title because I feel it sounds better. This book has gone through major editing and there are new scenes, longer chapters, and better developed characters.

For those of you who are reading it for the first time: this is a dystopian fanfiction set in the future. There won't be much sci-fi stuff, but don't expect too much realism, either (duh). There will be mature content such as descriptions of murder, fighting, and sexual content. I won't put any warnings at the beginning of chapters with said content, so consider this your only warning.
