Warmth.

So soothing, so calm.

As if my mother embraced me, while I was wrapped around her love, her affection.
As if I was floating in the ocean while the sun showered its light upon me with its warmth.

I was myself...and yet I wasn't. I was a part of everything and nothing.

My eyes slowly cracked open but all I could see was blurred white. I looked around as my eyes began to focus, I inhaled deeply, realizing my own consciousness in this blinding white light as I sat up from where I lied. It seemed like I was in a void, a pure white void. The environment was hard to comprehend and unfamiliar but somehow I felt calm.

Scanning the area I was in, I couldn't see anything alive, just an endless stretch of white. The ground I stood upon had no shadow, I briefly thought that I wasn't touching the floor. I stood up from where I sat then waited. I questioned myself, What am I waiting for? Is there a person, a voice or even a sign to call out for me? I didn't know, I just waited for something...or someone.

Then there it was, a female voice gently whispered in my ear. The tone was soothing and beautiful, my tense shoulders became relaxed upon hearing them. She covered my eyes as she whispered. "My, my, What do we have here? A jailbreaker? So it seems that there is some hope left in this world."

I stood still, a little phased out of my own consciousness as I loosely asked, "W-What are you... talking about? ...Who...are you?"

I heard a giggle, "Don't worry, I am...-well, just think of me as your guardian angel. I've been looking after you since you were a child, you never saw me but I've always watched you. When you took your first steps as a child, I made sure you would never stumble. When you were threatened by other kids, I made you brave enough to face them. When you sleep every night and dream of wondrous worlds, I made sure you never had nightmares. Soon, I will be a part of you but for now, I want you to look at these three poor souls right here."

She stopped covering my eyes as she backed away. For some reason, I didn't want to look back, like something was preventing me from doing so. Instead, I look ahead at the "poor souls" she just mentioned.

Three people kneeled in front of me, their faces hidden by the blur of white and their hands cuffed behind their back. The void turned dark as all I could see were the three people in front of me. Their features were hard to grasp, all I knew so far about them was hair color and appropriate age.

The one on my left was a young girl, She had onyx black hair with a slight stroke of crimson.

The person on my right was also female, she seemed to be about the same age as me, her long golden blonde hair reached down her back and touched the colorless ground.

Then in front of me was a boy. Also around my age, he seemed to be Scandinavian.

I looked at them with pity, wishing to help. When I got a good look at all of them, chains started to fade in and appear on each of them. These chains wrapped around them tightly, around their chest, around their arms, and around their neck.

They began to sob as they were held down by chains on their knees, helpless. The environment began to change, now the floor was no longer white, or colorless, now it was just strings of chains piled upon each other, the floor was covered with them and stretched as far as the horizon.

But I didn't put much attention on the environment, only on the three people in front of me. I wanted to help them but I just couldn't interact with them in any way.

I watched them sob, feeling horrible. I tried moving my hands and reach toward them but something was restricting me, like an invisible wall which didn't allow me to get closer. All three of them looked up at me as I tried reaching out to them, trying to free them.

The boy in the middle spoke to me, "Do you wish to help us?"

"Of course, I want to help you! I don't know who you are but you all don't deserve to be treated this way."

I tried harder to reach out to them, The girl on the right spoke, "Do you wish to free us from our misery? Do you want to free us from these chains that have shackled our freedom?"

I gritted my teeth as I continued struggling to reach them, shouting, "Yes! Please, Let me help you! I want you all to be free from those chains!"

The restraint that held me back was suddenly gone and I leaned forward too much that I almost tripped. I regained my balance as I looked up at them. All three of them spoke in synchronization, sounding like a choir.

"You have made an oath. Until the oath is complete, you cannot escape your fate as a Jailbreaker."

I looked at them, curious.

"What is this Oath? What do you mean by Jailbreaker?"

They kindly smiled, the girl from the left spoke as the rest became quiet. "You will find out later in the future. You might forget that this dream ever occurred but you don't have to worry. We will meet again and next time you will remember."

"But-"

"No buts...you have to go don't you? It's going to be morning soon". The guy in the middle cuts me off.

Everything soon began to fade out, my vision slowly blurring. But before everything turned to black, I noticed something behind the three people in front of me. In the a silhouette of a human figure, a male physique. He hung with his hands shackled from the chains attached to the white sky. Like the other three, I could not see his face yet I could sense that he was smiling widely like a madman. My heart sank as I heard him give a sinister giggle.

I gasped as I rose from my bed, panting and trying to gather my thoughts. Looking over at my clock, I realized that it was 6 AM and that there were sounds of water drops hitting my bedroom window, it was raining.

"Typical weather"

I rubbed my head and mumbled. "Ugh, what the hell was that dream I just had? Who..."

I hear a high pitched sound as my head began to ache. The sound, it's the type that's created when a metallic bar hits a hard object then vibrates for a long time, giving that ear piercing noise. I place my hand on my forehead, trying to endure the annoying sound and my head aching. I breathe heavily, gritting my teeth, and endured the pain.

After what felt like minutes that had passed, the pain began to go away and the sound was fading.

My breathing slowed down as I dropped back into bed, mumbling out of confusion, "What...was I...?"
