There's something you should understand, during the Phase of Separation, there were other things happening around me while I was unconscious. In my mind, the Separation was commencing, but outside of that, there was something else occurring and Zack had to act.

Let me retell what had happened during the Phase of Separation, from the outside.

When Zack noticed my heavy breathing and the sound of me moaning in pain and agony. He felt it, he remembered that same feeling when he was a newborn CoDa, the feeling of his soul being torn apart and the constant headache. When I dropped to my knees and crouched on the floor, coughing repeatedly, Zack felt like he had to take action.

He instantly waved my palm in front of his uncle, mumbling lightly as he put him to sleep. "Nathan, are you o-" said my uncle as his eyes rolled back, air flowing out of his mouth as he lied on the ground, unconscious.

Zack knelt down and placed his hand on my shoulder, frantically speaking, "Nathan? Nathan! Don't worry, I am here. It'll be fine, you're experiencing the Phase of Separation, you just have to endure it."

I was moaning in pain as I leaned forward, holding onto my chest. "Nathan, be calm, it'll be alright," Zack comforted, I didn't reply back, my panting became heavier.

Then as I coughed heavily, I panted a little bit more before falling unconscious on the ground.

He's experiencing it now, this is not going to be good for him, Zack thought.

Zack heard shuffling of leaves on the trees, he looked over to his right to see Emily jump out of the tree branches and land on the grass in front of him.

Zack gave a raised an eyebrow, what was she doing here? What is Emily PsyFlare doing here? He wondered.

"What the hec-"

"Avis told me to spectate you guys and help you out, I was also curious," Emily interrupted.

"Tch! Spectate? As in watching his second phase? I'd prefer if you let him have his privacy. It's something every CoDa should keep to themselves," Zack replied as he lied me down in a straight position.

"Why would I do that? Wait, you don't know...?" she muttered.

"What do you mean?" Zack inquired, approaching her.

"Zack..." Emily paused, looking at him. "The HQ has been getting some strange activity from the Colorless. They're all heading towards this location. I think they're after Nath-" Her eyes popped out as she dashed towards Zack.

"Wha-!" he muttered, backing away.

"Get down, NOW!" she shouted, her left hand burst into a vibrant red flame as she then shaped her hand into a fist.

Zack glanced behind him and his eye widened, an arthropod-looking creature was about to go for an attack with it's left limb, the limb had a sharp point to it, it would've pierced through Zack and it would've been devastating. The form seemed to be that of an arachnid, it had disturbing pointy teeth, 8 eyes, filled with black, and no pupil to be seen. All of its eyes were placed on Zack, or rather past him and at me. The arachnid had unique symbols, patterns, and markings on its body, this was clearly a Colorless. He quickly crouched down as she then placed her foot on his shoulder and jumped off. Zack grunted as she used his shoulder as a jump pad.

As Emily jumped, she swung her foot back and shifted the weight from her legs to her torso, she raised her fist and went for a cross punch from above

As Emily jumped, she swung her foot back and shifted the weight from her legs to her torso, she raised her fist and went for a cross punch from above. As the fist impacted the head of the Arachnid, flames ignited around her knuckles, creating an explosive impact. The fires scorched the critter as it gave a high pitched screech. It began to retreat backward to the steep cliff face, slipping and crashing down as it did so. Zack instantly got up as he looked at Emily, she returned the gaze.

He exhaled in relief, "Th-Thank you...

"Anytime," she replied, turning her attention away from him and into the forest.

Zack turned his head towards the direction she was looking at and gazed into the dark forest.

"The sun is setting," she said, still watching the forest. "The Colorless are out to consume Nathan at his most vulnerable state, we have to get him to HQ."

"Right!" Zack agreed.

"Zack, carry Nathan, I'll back you up. It seems like we will be up against a lot of Arthropods types. Your cryokinesis abilities won't be that effective in this fight, leave it to me." Emily turned her hands into fists, gazing into the forest then turning towards the downward trail to exit the hills.

"How do you know?" Zack asked as he grabbed me by my hand and carried me behind his back.

"By sensing them...obviously..." she said, rolling her eyes.

"Oh, yeah, true." He chuckled, rubbing his head. "You know me, I tend to not have a good sense of my surroundings."

"Don't joke with me, if you were like that, you wouldn't have been promoted from Newborn CoDa to a Guardian." She gave Zack an annoyed look as she turned back towards the trail downwards.

Emily gestured for him to follow her but before Zack did, he remembered my uncle.

He can't be left alone with these monsters, they will easily corrupt him, Zack thought. He lightly gestured his hand and mumbled to himself, thick ice surrounded my uncle in a sphere as Zack then turned back to follow Emily.

This isn't good, he wondered to himself, I can feel a lot of negative energy around this city.

As Emily and Zack returned to the urban city of Gothenburg, Zack could tell that they were overwhelmed, these Colorless were waiting for them, and the Colorless had a powerful thirst for me. They were coming out of buildings and forests, some appeared from underground, their spiritual form allowed them to flow through solid objects. The Colorless had no focus on the humans, only them. Zack had seen this happen once before, it happened when he was experiencing the Phase of Separation and it wasn't easy for the others to protect him.

Zack and Emily knew, that what was about to happen, in this battle, would be chaotic.
