TPKA Part 2: Dual Pulse

"Tell me more about the Possession aspect of Colorless. Is there a particular way to free a human possessed by one?" I questioned.

Zack sat closer, explaining through body language, we were really getting into the mood of learning from one another.

Zack explained how a Colorless had its soul connected to a human, much like how spirits bonded with future born CoDas before their phase of separation. The humans hadn't become one with the Colorless, but they were influenced by them to do whatever the Colorless demands.

He went on to explain how there are two ways a Colorless can influence a human moral. The first is by just being near humans, the negative energy that is emitted from the Colorless is enough to cause humans to argue with one another or become depressed. Second is by Possession A.K.A Phobia Virus.

"So let me guess, you're now gonna say that we, ourselves, can possess humans as well?"

Zack was pleased by my educated guess, he clapped his hands as he responded, "Very good, Nathan. You're right, we CoDas can possess humans as well. But not in the same way you think. You see, unlike Colorless, we don't completely possess a human but rather buff them up in a way."

"Buff them up? Like, make them stronger?"

"Mmm-kind of," Zack hesitated, "not in the way you think. We connect with the human soul and increase the 'strength' of their Will, they become wiser meaning they can give wisdom to those who are consumed in negativity, they can think faster meaning they can fight better; and they can act accordingly to what's right, meaning their choices will benefit them and others around them."

I let out an 'Ah' as I asked, "So, what is it called when a CoDa possesses a Human?"

"Oh, I am glad you asked, It's called Dual Pulse."

Nathan might've not sensed it but Shiro could, the instant she entered the house with Nathan, she went directly to the kitchen. Upon entering, she was mildly disgusted. Seeing dead corpses were nothing new to her but she still found it vulgar. Shiro recalled some of her early memories, how she had vomited from seeing a fresh bloody corpse enveloped in the cold, its blood staining the snow.

She knelt down to take a closer look at the corpse of what seemed to be an older woman, a mother. Shiro touched the neck wound of the corpse then ran her fingers down gently across her torso, feeling the wounds. Shiro could feel the corpse, it's skin and blood, but when Shiro would look at her own fingers, they were still clean after touching the blood. A strange sensation that Shiro couldn't get her mind off of. It's as if she could feel the physical environment but she could not necessarily touch it.

Her attention was brought to the false Nathan who had found himself entering the kitchen as well. And in the moment of silence, Shiro herself had taken notice of the sobbing and wheezes of a young girl. She was too caught up in observing the corpses to notice. She looked at Nathan's reaction to seeing these corpses, in which she was surprised to see false Nathan to be calm and collective about the situation.

"You're quite the brave fella, aren't ya?" Shiro giggled slightly as she approached in front of him.

As Nathan progressed forward, he passed through Shiro like a ghost. She didn't act surprised at what happened and turned to follow Nathan from behind. She softly placed her hand on Nathan's back, concentrating on the partial soul that the real Nathan had left behind. Shiro knew that no fake human was soulless, CoDas had at most half of their souls handed over to their fake counterpart.
