Temptation

L Pov;

As we take our flight back home to Tokyo, Annie looks through the window the whole time. What could she be thinking of? What is in her mind right now? Maybe she's concerned of Near or the sutuations she has been in. Ever since the robbery she's been like this. Maybe my deductions are incorrect this time.

" Why don't you suspect me?" she asks still looking outside into the deep clouds of conversation

" I don't" I say back to her

" I know you dont" she says " But why don't you?" she asks me once again

I struggle to find an answer. She seems so damn at it and wanting an answer from me.

" Because, you couldn't have. I think it was the same person who was killing people before" I reply to her after the pausing

" But you said you solved those cases" she intimidates me

" I did, but I feel like his power has crossed to other people in Japan, who are now killing" I say

" You don't make any sense L" she reports

" Annie I think I know more about detective work than you" I say to her

" I'm sorry L. I just," she explaims " I want to investigate with you. But I get held back every time. I watched you on TV almost every day. Solving cases I wanted to. My wish as to be just like you. Then out of absolute nowhere, you ask me to help you after being in a simple incident. It doesn't make sense that you're interested in this so much" she grasps hes phone

" I'm sorry you feel that way about it. Try to think of it as you have amazing deductive skills, and you can help me so much on this investigation" I comfort her

She stops talking and all I can hear is silence. She stares back outside to see that we are about to land very shortly.

After landing on the short and calm ground. We both head into the limousine awaiting for us. Matsuoka takes the wheel as I'm very cautious, and he's the first person I showed my face to when I became a detective. I stay anonymous, it helps myself that way.

" Matsuoka. Will you find a dress for Annie due for tonight please" I say

" Of couse L" he replies

" Are you sure about a party? I'm not into them a lot" she asks

" Neither am I, but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun" I say

We both nod.

After the long jouney to get to the hotel, we finally arrive. As both me and Annie leave the car, we both thank Matsuoka as we head inside the hotel.

Our rooms, just how we left it.

" The view from this room is perfect!" she screams with joy

" I'm glad you like it" I reply

" If you would like Annie, we can investigate here all of the time" I say

" Won't the Japanese police have to come through your room every time then?" she asks

" Yes, but it won't bother me. It's not like I have anything in here I don't want anyone to see" I say

" There's literally a pair of boxers shoved under your bed, I can see" she laughs

" Umm, they aren't mine" I blush whilst we both laugh

" We should get ready for the party then" she says

Matsuoka knocks on the door and enters the room with a lovely box. Annie opens the box to see a lovely gown but I can't see. Matsuoka shushes her, apparently it's a secret from me! Matsuoka leaves with a gentle and friendly hug from Annie.

I wonder what I should wear to the party?

" Matsuoka got you a suit!!" she laughs her head off

" Give it here!" I shout with laughter

Annie takes the box to her room. The ensuite is between my room and her room. She goes to take a shower in the ensuite

I can feel the steam from here. She only takes 5 minutes in there. Then when she leaves I take over the bathroom and head in the shower too. I can see the strands of blonde at the bottom of the shower. She left her hair grips here too. I love it when girls don't fuss to much with hair or makeup.

After I come out of the shower and dry myself off with the soft and warm towel, I can hear Annie putting on the dress.

I put on the black/grey pants on, then the white stained shirt. Then the jacket. Lastly, Matsuoka managed to put a rose in my pocket. I said a party, not a wedding!

Matsuoka said for us not to see eachother before the party. So I put on the mask (Matsuoka made it a masquerade party/ball). My mask is black with one feather that looks like a tear drop coming from the end of the mask. I quickly look in the mirror, see that I look the best I've ever looked in my life.

I walk down stairs towards the entertainment room to see so many people, I feel so nervous.

I quickly head to the food, the most important thing in my life. As I see a girl walking down the stair being escorted by Matsuoka. She's the most beautiful person I've ever laid eyes on. She's wearing a black dress with some red sparkles. The red matches my rose. Her mask is a lovely black with a red feather as an opposit tear to mine. Is that really her? Annie?

She starts to walk down the stairs, with everyone looking at her. I hear people saying she looks so beautiful. I don't think I've ever been this tempted before of her. Everything about her makes me feel so happy. Maybe that's another reason why she interests me.
