(Draco's POV)

Today was Thursday. We had our first flying lesson with Gryffindor this afternoon. I hated having class with those filthy blood traitors and Mudbloods. Not to mention that bloody Potter was always trying to get Rachel's attention. I was determined to keep her away from them, as well as that Hufflepuff boy from Transfiguration, I didn't know what he was playing at but I didn't like it.

*Time Skip to this afternoon*

(Harry's POV)

I was walking with Ron and Hermione on our way to our Flying lesson. I knew we had this class with Slytherin, so I was aware that I'd be seeing Malfoy, but I also knew I'd get to see Rachel and that would make putting up with Malfoy worth it. When we got there Slytherin was already waiting for us. I also noticed that there were about twenty broomsticks lined up in two files which obviously separated the houses. Very soon after arriving our Professor arrived. She had short grey hair with tiny hints of blonde still in it, and bright golden yellow eyes almost hawk like. " Good afternoon class" she greeted. "Good afternoon Madam Hooch" we all chorused back. "Well what are you waiting for? Everyone stand behind a broomstick. Come on, hurry up." She barked at us. We all quickly complied to her demand and stood behind one of the broomsticks. "Stick your right hand over the broom, and say 'Up'!" She instructed. Almost instantly, everyone started shouting 'up'. To my own surprise I caught my broom on the first try. Looking up to Rachel hoping she had seen my succeed, I see her first attempt at retrieving her broom. "Up" she said sounding commanding but yet kind. And to her appeasement the broom flew into her hand, followed by Malfoy who managed to get his on his second try. The two Slytherins shared a look of achievement with each other. Rachel sporting a big grin, while Malfoy smirked probably amused be Rachel's enthusiasm. A pang of jealousy hit me momentarily before a loud smack shook me out of it. I turned my head to my left, to see Ron get smacked in the face by his broomstick. I couldn't help but burst out laughing at the sight, earning a frustrated Ron to turn to me. "Shut up, Harry!" He groaned while rubbing his sore nose. The cutest giggle brought my attention back to the Slytherins standing infront of us. Where I saw Rachel trying to muffle her laughs behind her hand while looking at Ron, who blushed darker than his hair at the embarrassment.

(Rachel's POV)

After Madam Hooch explained to us about how to mount our brooms, she instructed us to push off the ground, hover slightly and touch back down. But before any of us could follow her instructions, a Gryffindor boy, I think his name was Neville, lost control of his broom and went speeding off towards the castle to which he got caught on one of the statues before falling to the ground and breaking his wrist. Madam Hooch had to bring him to the hospital wing but not before addressing us firmly. "If I see a single broom in the air, the one riding it will find themselves expelled before they can say 'Quidditch'!" She said rushing off with a whimpering Neville. I felt bad for the boy, but because I'm slightly sadistic I couldn't help but slightly laugh a his misfortune. This went noticed by Draco who burst into laughter while turning to his friends. He spotted something in the grass and quickly went to retrieve it. After getting a better look at it, I recognized it as a rememberall, I guess it was Neville's. "Did you see his face, maybe if the fat lump had givin' this a squeeze he would have remembered to land on his fat ass" Draco laughed, earning a chorus of laughs from the rest of the Slytherins including me, I managed to stifle a laugh. Not to be rude but I had to admit it was kind of funny. Minus the fact that he got hurt. 'What am I saying? I'm a terrible person!' Before I had the chance to step up and defend the poor boy, someone else did a Gryffindor girl who I think is Parvati...or Padma I'm not 100% sure. I know there's one in Hufflepuff, my sister hangs out with her all the time, and I know they're twins. I just don't remember which one is in which house. Anyways she stepped forward angrily telling Draco to "Shut up" Of course Parkinson wouldn't like this so she stepped in next, "Ooh, sticking up for Longbottom? never thought you'd like fat little crybabies, Parvati" she said in a snobby tone. OK so the one in Gryffindor is Parvati. I'll have to take note of that. Just then Harry came forward eyeing Draco angrily. "Give it here, Malfoy!" He said eyeing Neville's rememberall. "I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find.  How about on the roof?" Draco said with a mischievous grin on his face. OK, now it's a good time for me to step in. This is gonna end badly if I don't say something. "Now Draco, don't you think that's a little too far?" I said lacing my words with a bit of concern. I didn't want this to escalate into a fight. "Yeah, listen to your girlfriend Malfoy" A boy I recognized as Seamus Finnigan spat. I think at that moment everyone looked dumbstruck and confused. Some people probably wondering if I was actually Draco's girlfriend. Although I think me and Draco were the most confused. We both looked at each other and I felt my face heat up, I knew I wasn't the only one because he was blushing too. "S-she's not m-my girlfriend!" Draco managed to say. From where I was standing I was able to hear Ron mutter "There's no way he could get a girlfriend like that. She's way out of his league" to his friends, which resulted in most of them nodding in agreement or laughing. But what Ron failed to do was to keep Draco and the rest of the Slytherins from hearing his comment. And honesty I didn't even know how I felt about that comment. I didn't know whether to feel good that I was considered pretty or feel targeted. The attention I was getting from the boys earned me a scoff from Pansy. "Tch" I clicked my tongue in distaste for her unsubtle actions. "Oh yeah, what about you weaselbee? At least I can get a girlfriend! I bet you've never even had a girlfriend before" Draco spat in retaliation. "Oh, come on guys. Is this really necessary?" I complained. "You're right Rachel, there's no use in arguing with these losers" said Blaise, who walked up from behind me and placed hand on my shoulder. I slightly shivered at his touch. Don't get me wrong Blaise is attractive, but his looks can also be intimidating I couldn't help but be slightly wary of him. I forced a smile before nervously laughing at the awkwardness. Meanwhile Harry and Draco were still egging each other on, it got to a point where Draco skillfully hopped onto his broom and took off into the air still holding the rememberall. Harry being brave as I know he is, took off after him. "What..an..idiot" Hermione stated, slightly spacing out her words to add emphasis. "Boys, always so stubborn" I said shaking my head in disapproval. "Tell me about it" replied Hermione. With the boys being up so high we couldn't see much, well at least they couldn't I have enhanced hearing and eyesight allowing me to see and hear the boys perfectly. "Give it here Malfoy, or I'll knock you off your broom!" Threatened Harry. "Is that so..." Taunted Draco with an amused grin on his face. "...have it your way then" he said before chucking the object far off into the distance towards the castle. I swear that boy can be such a bully. Normally I wouldn't put up with bullies, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to tell him off. Something told me I should take his side and at the same time I didn't appreciate how much grief he gave Harry and I want to take his side. But I couldn't choose so I just stood there and did nothing and said nothing like a useless bystander. More like someone's puppet. After ridding himself of the rememberall, Draco gracefully came flying back down landing right in between me and the rest of the laughing Slytherins. Harry on the other hand sped towards the Hogwarts castle hoping to catch the thrown object in time. Thankfully he'd caught it seconds before he hit the tower. "There's no way he'll catch it" stated Pansy in a snobby tone. Me being able to actually see Harry from where he was, replied with utmost bluntness, "He caught it" The Gryffindors burst into cheers for Harry, who was flying back in our direction shaking the rememberall in his hand to show his friends that he had caught it. Once he landed he received multiple pats on the back from his classmates, but he didn't acknowledge the attention, instead he was focused on, he gave me a satisfied look. I gave him the winning smile I'm known for using when giving my approval, and gave him two thumbs up. A dark red colour adorned his face, and as quick as it appeared it disappeared replaced with a ghostly white colour when a stern voice called his name. "HARRY POTTER!" Professor McGonagall shouted, causing all previous cheering to turn into complete silence. The Slytherins barely contained their laughter at the thought of Harry in trouble. "Follow me" the professor stated more calmly, before briskly walking away with a frightened Harry in tow.

*Time Skip to dinner*

(Draco's POV)

I didn't want to admit jealousy, but I didn't know what else to call it. I was mad. That blasted Potter made seeker on his Quidditch team, and there's a strict rule about first years not being allowed to play Quidditch. My father would be enraged if he heard about this. Not everyone was making a fuss about it though. Rachel seemed thrilled, and I had to explain to her that she couldn't cheer for him because he was on the Gryffindor team. "I don't see the problem with cheering for my friend" she pouted. She was lucky none of the others heard her say that, or she would be labeled as a blood traitor. Although she was so cute when she pouted like that, I couldn't help but feel bad. I wanted to make her feel better. I wanted to see her smile light up the room. "Ugh...you just can't"  I replied, face palming on the process. "Fine!" She huffed in response.

(A.N: sorry this chapter was shorter than the others, but I'm gonna start making them around this size from now on. But don't worry that means I'll be updating more often.
