The tiny cries of a small baby were the only sounds in the hospital room. A mother reaches out for her child, tears forming in her eyes. When he's set in her hands, she brushes the few dark locks of hair from his face and whispers so softly, "He's beautiful."
That tiny child was there with her, face pink and feet softly kicking.
The doctor held out the birth certificate to the mother and father of the baby. Vikram Barn, it read. 8.5 lbs.
When he was brought home, it was time for his monster to be revealed. The family gathered in the blue and yellow nursery. The mother carrying the child set him down gently in the crib, cooing softly.
She stepped back.
The room was silent.
Until a blonde child made his way out from under the bed. He couldn't've been much older that Vikram himself. His skin was pale and his eyes blue.
This boy was meant to be the monster under the bed.
But Vikk would never see him as that.
