I ask her out.

After classes I sit on the picnic bench outside of the dorms, leaning against the table and swinging my legs. The sun is out, but its weak rays still can't compete with the chilly air. Now that it's mid-March, I'm hoping the snow will finally--

"Natsu!!" My thoughts are actually interrupted by a girl with silver hair whipping past her. "Natsu!!"

I look down from staring at the sun, hoping my gaze could force it out of hiding. The black spots fill my vision, and I have to blink multiple times for it to go away. "What do you want?" I ask, not really knowing yet who I'm speaking to.

"You said you'd help me, remember? Those girls are still holding it over my head!!" I finally open my eyes to see a troubled Lisanna in front of me, her head where the sun used to be.

"Right. Holding what exactly?"

"The notebook! You have to get the notebook back! Think of it like you're a secret agent. Your mission, whether you choose to accept, is to retrieve the black notebook with my name on it at all costs, without getting noticed! The three possible suspects are Bianca, Gigi, and April. Please Natsu, you're the only one who can do this." Her begging is not necessarily making me want to help more, but the mission prospect is intriguing. I agree, and after she leaves I slowly remember the conversation we had what feels like forever ago.

I pull out my phone and call Gray. "Hey man, what are you doing this weekend? Remember that thing I asked you a while ago, about going on a double date and then... yeah? Ok good. Well I want it to happen this weekend. Yeah, I know, I'll owe you. I want to get this over with. Blah, blah. Just ask Bianca if she'll go on a double date. Yes right now! I don't know what to do about Juvia! If she finds out, tell her Bianca asked you, I guess. I don't know. Text me once you ask her. We'll go out to see a movie at 6:30, or something. Ok, cool. Bye, and thanks again."

I hang up and walk around campus until I end up in the cafeteria. I don't know the first place to look for Kiki, or whatever her name was, so I might as well start looking there. I've never really been the one who looks for other people, so this is already new territory.

"Hey Natsu!" I turn around to look for who called out to me. I find myself facing Alzack and Bisca, who are holding hands, Alzack being the one who called out to me. They both wave and smile, and I wave back, watching their faces. Bisca silently laughs, before slowly pointing behind me. Confused, I slowly turn around, just to be scared by a sudden presence behind me.

"Hi Natsu! What are you doing here in the cafeteria? I would have like, expected you to go outside with the rest of S-class!" A girl speaks very energetically to me, rocking back and forth on her heels.

"Are you uh, Gigi by any chance?" I take a chance with the name, and it turns out to be right. The girl beams with joy.

"Yes! You know my name! That's like, awesome!" She smiles, and I notice how pretty she actually is. Her straight brown hair only reaches her shoulders, not quite as long as Lucy's, and her blue eyes sparkle with the same kind of energy that her entire body radiates. I can't imagine this kind of girl did something horrible to Lisanna.

"Well Gigi, I was wondering if you wanted to go on a double da-" I don't even get to finish my sentence before she starts hyperventilating. I fight the urge to roll my eyes- I could have been setting her up with someone else since I didn't get to finish my sentence. "DoubledatewithmeandGrayandBiancathisweekend?" I rush to get the rest of my question out as she tries to calm down. I swear with all this excitement she's ready to jump through the roof and up to the moon.

"AHHHHHH I WOULD LOVE TO NATSU OHMIGOD. Bianca's gonna be mad I got Natsu! Where? When? What time?" I heard her whisper that middle part, but I ignore it.

"Gray should be asking Bianca right now. We'll pick you girls up from the dorms Saturday and go to a movie around 6:30. Sound good?" I'm glad I thought of a movie rather than dinner or something. This way we won't actually have to make conversation.

"THIS IS GREAT, THANK YOU SO MUCH NATSU I WILL SEE YOU SATURDAY." She seems frozen in place, but in a split second she runs off, exclaiming: "I'M GOING TO THE MOVIES WITH NATSU DRAGNEEL AHHH!!!!!" This is really going to be a bother, isn't it?

I check in with Gray, and he more or less got a similar reaction. Bianca didn't believe him at first, then freaked out, then boasted to some random girl in the hallway that she scored a date with an S- class. I hope this isn't how every girl reacts when they're asked on a date...

Luce rejected you on the spot when you first suggested hanging out, my brain decides to remind me. "No, it's not a date," I clearly remember her saying. I smile at the memory, then frown. I haven't really seen Luce outside of classes lately. She's been acting really strange, but I can't place it. Whenever we all hang out, Erza, Cana, or Levy almost always have some kind of excuse for Lucy not being there, but none of them seem to make sense. I really hope she's ok- I miss her presence.

As I leave the cafeteria I already hear whispers about me going on a date this weekend. This will be all over soon, I console myself. I hope. Just gotta wait until Saturday.
