For the following days, Amanda was trying to grip her heart not to let herself be swayed by Henry's actions.
He never failed to call her each day. The moment she hears his voice, teasing her with just a greeting made her heart flutter. She could hear the crew working at the background but, it seemed that Henry didn't mind. Even at night, he still calls her. Like those times when he keeps calling her months ago. Listening him- his voice, his chuckles-it mesmerizes her.
But, she always shake it off every time they ended the call.
She also received paper roses. Scented roses-like the ones she received once. Sometimes they came in bundles, sometimes in singles. And there is also a note, tagged along:
Have a beautiful day. -H or Did it all night. But it's worth it.-H
She smiles at the little notes but eventually, shook the flutterings off.
There was once when she was working on her novel. In the midst of her work, her doorbell rang. She went to her door, her mind still floating on her novel piece. As she opened the door, she found no one but rather, a light blue small box on the floor. She looked around to see anyone around and decided that there was nobody there, she took it. She found her name on the small card, tagged to the box.
Wear this tomorrow. -H
She knew Henry was a charmer but this side of him made her thought he was actually spontaneous or rather spontaneously romantic. And all those things made her heart beat fast and they felt good.
"Hey, Gillian. Can you come with me tomorrow?" Amanda called Gillian that night. She was lying on her bed, starring at the ceiling.
"Sure. Where?"
"I have to buy a dress."
"Of course. I'll come over tomorrow."
They ended the call as Amanda spread her arms on her bed that night. She could hardly not smile in her sleep.
