"Do I look good?" Henry said as he checked himself on the mirror, fixing his black tuxedo.
"You look like Prince Charming, Henry!" Kimberly, Henry's younger step sister of 6, said as she clasp her hands together over her chest, dreamy.
"And you look like a princess!" Henry picked up Kimberly and raised her into the air. Kimberly giggled at his step brother.
"I'm not a princess! I'm the fairy godmother! See my wings?"
Henry chuckled before he place Kimberly back to the ground. Kimberly fixed her pink tutu and her pink wings and grinned back to her stepbrother.
"Who's going to be your princess, Henry?" Kimberly angled her head.
"You'll see her." Henry smiled and fix his black tuxedo again in front of the mirror.
"Is she pretty?"
"Yep."
"Will she look like Cinderella?"
"Cinderella got nothing on her."
Kimberly swiftly placed her hands on her cheeks and gasped. "Wow."
Henry has been standing with his champagne , smiling at the ladies and chatting with some of his father's business partners. He was trying to be patient with some of them, showing courtesy. And he was also trying to be patient waiting for Amanda to come. He understood the part where women wanted to have some dramatic entrances in parties but when he saw James coming his way, he thanked God that he doesn't have to wait any no longer.
"Hey." James said as Henry handed him a champagne.
"Where is she?"
"She said she has to go to restroom first."
"What? I've waited long enough-"
James shoved him a hand, "Women like dramatic entrances."
Henry scoffed. "She doesn't need one-"
"Oh, here she comes."
Descending down the stairs, Amanda was tensed enough to grip the handle of the stairs, as it was some kind of support. She wasn't use to be in such parties-lavish and formal. She wasn't use in wearing an A-line white lace dress with a neck sweep train tulle with a bare back and paired it with a 4 inch stiletto in white with a crystal ribbon at the center. She wasn't use to painting her nails in a French tip manner. She wasn't even use to fancying her raven black hair into an upper bun with a white floral placed there nor was she wearing diamond earrings. And most of all, she wasn't use to walking around without her glasses but rather, she wore colorless contacts. Her makeup has a warm tone-neutral smoky- popping out those blue eyes.
When she saw Henry's lips went to a curve as he was watching her walking towards him, she couldn't help but smile herself too. She never felt beautiful inside-until tonight.
"But, I gotta admit, it's worth the wait." Henry said, puzzling Amanda.
"What?"
"Champagne?" Henry handed her a champagne, his gray eyes focus onto her. He was happy that she wore the necklace he gave her.
"Thank you. Where is your father? I like to greet him a Happy Birthday."
"He's by his business partners. Come." He slid his hand unto the back of Amanda. Amanda felt a tingle at his touch and wondered if he knew she wasn't wearing a bra that time (only a padding of the dress).
"Father, Amanda Adams is here." Henry said, excusing her before leaving them.
Mr. Hudson looked at Amanda and was delighted to see her. "Oh, gentlemen, this is our beloved Amanda Adams. The author of the film we have been working for months now."
