They had two hours to turn me in.

I had two hours to turn myself in.

Hazel had two hours and if I didn’t turn myself in, she would die.

Joel just got back. He made it. He went to camp and stole a bunch of supplies without anyone seeing him.

I was barely staying awake now. I was covered in sweat, my breaths came in rasps, and I was bleeding out.

He laid down a blanket and laid me down on it. I groaned. He took out a needle and thread and poured water over my wound. “Just hold still.”

I nodded and bit my lip as he stitched me back up. After he was done, which felt like ages, he covered me with another blanket and put a backpack under my head. “Mate… I only have a couple hours” I tried to say in between raspy breaths.

He looked at me “I know I know” he gave me more water.

“Just turn me in” I nodded.

He looked at me trying to come up with another idea.

I nodded “its best for everyone.”

He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Just sleep and if I can’t figure anything else out then you can do whatever you want.”

I nodded and sighed, happy to be able to sleep now. But I didn’t know that when I opened my eyes again. All hell was going to break loose. And I wasn’t ready
