I sit at the edge of the bed while maid, well, maid-ens, do something with my hair.

Oh, I hate this.

"Why, dear? Are you not comfortable?" Frigga, Loki's mother, asks. I keep on forgetting my thoughts can be heard.

"I don't like being pampered like this." I say as I motion to my hair.

"It's customary for women too young to be married to have their hair fashioned a certain way." She says as she mixes something in a bowl, and pours it into a tiny bottle necklace. She walks over to me, shooing away the maidens.

"Drink this if you begin to feel ill." She says as she puts the necklace on me.

"What's in it?" I ask, looking at the bottle. It's a simple, oval shape.

"Crushed mint, spring water, and some lavender." She smiles at me.

It's good she asked, it is never a good idea to consume something unknown.

Wait, did I just-

"I heard that! You didn't say it, but I heard it!" I gasp, and quickly stand up.

There's no possibility that the spell is wearing off! Unless-

"Unless what, Frigga? What spell?" I ask, and a worried look crosses her face.

We both look at the doors when they swing open, and Loki struts in.

Loki, be careful. It seems she can hear out thoughts.

Her? The pathetic human? That's not-

"True. That's not true." I snarl at him.

Frigga looks sadly at me.

"You're right, dear. It's not true. You aren't exactly human." She says slowly. "And you definitely are not pathetic.
