Chapter 23

I put on my sweatshirt and a pair of some cycling shorts, wrap my hair in a towel and head out to my room. I looked at myself in a mirror and then took the towel off from my head and just stood there. My hair was still obviously wet, but I didn't bother using the hair dryer. I never do anyways. I run my fingers through my hair and bring it to one side.

I looked at my phone and noticed it had 4% battery left. Better get it charged then.  I looked around at my desk for the charger, nothing. I checked all the drawers and cabinets in my room, still nothing. I crouched down and peeked under my bed. I stretched my hand out to feel for something that felt like a charger. Gotcha. I connected it to my phone and plugged into the socket and left it on the desk to charge.

I finally started going down the stairs when I heard my mum talk to someone.

"If you ever need any more pillows, you can just get some more over the cupboard over there."

"Nah, it's fine Julie. I really appreciate everything already."

"No worries, Harry. After what you've done for Aly, it's the least I can do." I hear footsteps moving away. I decide to pop my head out to see the living room. Harry turned around from facing the couch to me.

"You're such an eavesdropper." He shook his head, smiling. "Ever heard of 'Curiosity kills the cat'"?

"Well, I've still got eight lives then." I let out a small laugh and stop immediately. I just look at the boy right in front of me.

"What?" He raises his left eyebrow.

"It's just." He moves closer to me.

"Just what?" He places his hand under my ear and holding my head a bit, making me touch my forehead to his. "Just what, Aly?" I stare up at him this time. Unafraid.

"Just can't believe you're here." I smiled a bit.

"What was that?" He whispered in my hear this time. I hold onto his neck so that I could whisper back.

"You're here. Right now." Tears of joy sprung out of my eyes. Seriously, it's like I'm a leaking pipe.

"Aly." He hugged me then, like he's protecting me. "I can't believe it too." We then looked at each other, smiling like idiots. I then wiped a tear from his cheek, and he laughed.

"I think the guy is supposed to do that sort of thing."

"I know. You're just a girl." I laughed at his face. Reaction was priceless.

"Is that how you're going to play?" He started tickling at my sides and tried to tickle him back but so far, I'm failing.

"HARRY—STO—HAHAHAHA—STTTOOOPP—"

"No. Take it back! I'm no girl!"

"FINE—STOP—AAAAAHHAHAHA"

The tickling stopped. Thank you God. "I thought you'd never stop."

"Well. I'm hungry."

"Aly! Supper's ready! Get Harry and Axel!" Right on cue mum.

"Let's go." I skipped to the dining room.

"Where's Axel?" My mom asked me when we entered.

"I thought he was with you. And, I know that no one's upstairs."
