It was sunny outside. Why was it always sunny outside when these Titan reports come in?
Levi and his "siblings" were taking in the scene around them as their horses galloped behind me.
Really, it was too freakin' pretty out to stop these monsters.
I would rather be rolling around in the grass, inhaling the sweet perfume of the earth.
Instead I was inhaling the odor of death and carnage around me.
There was a blond Titan off to my left. God, he was ugly. He had a huge mouth. I wanted to avoid that at all times. The Titan reached down to grab me off horseback, and thank god that there were trees around. I used my 3DMG to make my escape.
"Hah, hah!" I called down from the branch of a mighty oak. "Close, yet so far!"
Blondie Titan kept walking. I think he was trying to get my horse.
"Oh, no you don't!"
I kicked down off of the branch and twirled through the air, and sliced through the titans weak spot. I grabbed some strands of the Titans hair as he fell to the ground.
"Timber!!!"
Boom!
Dust flew up.
Other riders and my horse made it out just fine.
"Works every time," I told no one in particular.
It might sound crazy that we were using these comeback lines against titans, but, they're comeback lines. It made us feel better to talk. At least we weren't sitting on our arses getting drunk like the Garrison Corps.
I leapt off of the titans neck as my horse circled around. I grabbed her mane and swung back into the saddle as she ran.
I heard a crash, and saw Levi swoop down as he targeted the Titan behind me. I turned my horse around. Farlan was in a now unclenched hand, shaking with fear. Isabelle looked worried for her brother in arms.
"Is he okay?" I called out.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Hey, Levi! That was a fine run, considering it was your first."
"Thanks." He said, looking me in the eye.
That's when I first really noticed his eyes. Cold, steel grey. Eyes that told a thousand stories. Beautiful.
Levi's point of view
Boom!
What the heck? Did we bring cannons with us? One minute, I was discussing the mission with Isabelle and Farlan, the next, I obviously didn't know what.
I saw a blond Titan on the ground. Dust flew up. And on the titan's neck, de attaching her maneuvering gear, bloodstains on her cloak, the breeze ruffling her long hair as the smoke went up as the Titan incinerated......
Blondie!?
She had a wild look in her eyes.
I couldn't take my eyes off of her. It was like a million steel cables linked me to her.
I watched as she swung herself back into the saddle of her still running horse. That is not easy to do.
Ahhhh!!! Farlan screamed off to my right.
A Titan had picked him up off his horse.
Levi!!! Help me!!! I don't wanna die!!!
Without thinking, I drew my blade and activated my 3DMG. The grappling hook imbedded itself in the titan's shoulder. I flew up and off of my horse, which kept running.
Crap. I don't have enough momentum to make a clean cut.
I made the hook withdraw, and used the Titan's shoulder as a launch pad. I flew up into the air, and aimed the hook at the Titan's neck. When the cable retracted,
Slice!
The Titan collapsed in a heap on the ground. His hand unclenched, and there Farlan was, fear still noticeable on his face. His face was covered with sweat.
"I never doubted you for a second, bro."
I reached down to him, and pulled him out of the hand. His body shook all over. I'm surprised he could stand up.
"Is he okay?"
I didn't even hear as Rukia rode up behind us. The top two buttons of her blouse was undone, and this time, I really didn't blame Farlan if he was staring or drooling.
I immediately averted my gaze. I tried to focus on her face. That's when I noticed her eyes. Emerald green, with a fringe of thick lashes.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Farlan said.
Rukia turned her attention to me.
"That was a fine kill you did, Levi. Impressive, considering it was your first."
You're beautiful. You're a goddess. I will worship you. Marry me. My mind screamed.
"Thanks. What happened at the armory?"
"Erwin asked me a pretty important question, and I told him no. He asked if there was someone else involved, and I said no," she said sadly.
"Isabelle?" Farlan asked worriedly. "Do you have a black flare?"
"Yeah? Why?" She asked, panicking.
"There's a variant in Levi's vocabulary. We need to warn the others immediately."
They laughed.
I think I fell even harder for Rukia. Her eyes sparkled when she laughed, and her mouth was flawless when spread into a smile.
This had to stop!
