I walked down the stairs dressed and prepared. I heard my daddy, and it sounded as if he was leaving a voicemail.
"Arielle where the hell are you? Call me back asap."
He cursed under his breath causing me to frown.
"Daddy what's wrong?" I asked setting my bag down
"Ya sister, she's not hea' "
"Are you sure? I heard her come in last night" he nodded, "yeah me too, but my car ain't in the drive way. "
I bit my lips in thought.
"Ight, maybe she stayed over mama's house then,"

I gazed at Keyanna as a million thoughts strolled through my mind. She was beautiful, and knowing that she was the mama of my child, and was mine was a blessing. Especially after all the shit I went through she chose me. The sun glistened on her body making the moment feel unreal. I sat up and rubbed a hand across my face. My eyes landed on the farm we were about to pass causing me to slow down. I stretched my arms out and tapped her.
She looked at me and yawned
"Keyanna look" I pointed over to the farm and she looked in amazement.
"Wow, cows are actually not all that"
The both of us laughed and she put the window down.
"Look at the horse right there"
"The one staring at us?" She shook her head, "no the one in the far back eatin' the hay"
"Oh I see it" She nodded, "isn't it pretty?"
"I mean I wouldn't really call a horse pretty"
"Really Chris? Then what would you call it? "
"A brown horse"
She shook her head in disappointment.
"You know what I would call pretty?"
"What?" She asked facing me with her glasses now on her.
"You"
"Ahhh. You think I'm pretty?" She asked
"No, you're beautiful"
"Way to play it smooth Mr. Brown"
I shared a laugh with her, and my phone rang. I answered it then put it on speaker, "hello?"
"G'mornin' man is Kim with yall?"
"No" Keyanna stated, "Why?" She questioned
"Ion see ha' and my car is gone"
"Oh she prolly left to do some hours at school"
"Hours?"
"Community service" I said
"She got hours to do?" August and Keyanna asked
"Yeah," I said
"Why?" Keyanna asked
"Oh her track coach got her doin' them for some bogus ass reason"
"Damn. Well thanks "
"No problems"
"Aye what's all that shuffling for?" August asked
"Sorry bruh we're driving and--"
"Where are you guys goin' at 7 AM?" Tyla questioned
