Stephanie's POV

***Beep..Beep...Beep***

I groaned as I rolled over to press snooze on my alarm. Figures, the first day of my vacation and I forget to turn off my 6 am alarm. Blindly failing at turning off the alarm clock, I took it as a sign to get up for the start of the week. Mondays often meant me leaving for a day at the office to prepare for court, or for hearings I had later in the week. Today, my Monday would be spent on the couch binge watching shows on Netflix. Spending the past weekend preparing for New York and the cruise allowed me to relax before the madness of crazy blockheads begins. I couldn't wait to fly to New York and explore some of the city. I've been to New York on business, but never really quite got the chance to see all the sights. I had a day and a half in the city and I fully prepare to take advantage of that before I climb on a cruise ship later in the week, which by the way, I would gladly be stuck on for way more than four days.

Scrolling through titles on Netflix, I stumbled upon the "Rock this Boat" series. In protest of not being able to board the cruise last year,I spent all this time refusing to watch the show. Now that I'm able to experience the cruise, I decided watching these fans interact could enlighten me on some of the cruise dos and don'ts. It's finally my time to be one of the lucky 2,000 fans to embark on an adventure with the guys of every teenager's dreams in the 1980s and 1990s.

Hours later and after skipping many moments of the show, I've seemed to get a good idea of what to expect from the crazier sides of the fandom. I'm fully prepared for the door decorating contest, as I've been preparing for this contest for a year and a half. Hopefully, my idea will catch one of the guys' attention and they'll knock on my door. Also, I see the importance of making lots of friends to ensure you have a photo group fairly quickly, and I know to treat the guys as normal people. They want to enjoy the cruise just as much as I do, so they need their space at times. The most important don't : DO NOT FLASH DANNY WOOD! There's also no need to stalk the guys on their floor and to not do anything crazy in hopes of scoring VIP passes to Donnie's after party. To be honest, the parties don't even sound that fun. From what I've read, Donnie spends most of the time in another VIP section within the party and the whole night is spent in an overcrowded club. Most importantly, the best possible way to gain their attention is to be yourself and stand out among the crowd. I think I'm prepared for whatever is thrown my way.

Feeling this was a good of time as any to be productive, I get out of my bed to get some lunch. The Netflix binge has left me a little hangry. As I pass through my hallway, I see my phone has a missed call. I see that the call came from my lovely sister, Tiffany. She probably called to wish me safe travels on my trip and to not do anything she wouldn't do. To be quite frank, that isn't a lot of things that are prohibited. I grab the phone and dial as I place it on speaker phone.

"Hello," I hear my sister say on the other end of the line.

"Hey, what's up?" I say, as I dig through my nearly empty fridge.

"I was wondering if you still wanted me to watch after your apartment while you're gone living it up with the New Kids?" I could practically see my sister rolling her eyes as she asked about my apartment.

With a laugh, I say," Yeah, if you wouldn't mind. Feel free to eat all that you want and make yourself at home. I really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule." I exaggerate with a slight roll of my eyes.

"It's really no problem. Are you excited to get your hands all over those New Kids? Which one did you like again? Was it Brian? Oh, oh it has to be Jonathan?" She rambles on. I couldn't help rolling my eyes. First of all, she mentioned someone from the Backstreet Boys, who came a whole ten years later.

"Brian's not even in the right band dumbass! My favorite just so happens to be Jordan Knight. You know, the one who sings like an angel and has dance moves for days." I found myself saying with a sign.

"Yeah ,yeah, okay. Whatever. Wait...you like the one with the annoyingly high voice, who I thought was gay for like the longest time."

"He's not gay! For your information, his brother is actually the gay member of the band."

"Again, who really gives a shit. Anyway, there's a few rumors going around that a few of them are newly single. I definitely know that hunk Danny is! What I wouldn't do to get some of that grown man." Tiffany said.

"Ugh,,,did not need to know that. I'm not looking to get in a relationship with any of them. Plus, the one I want is taken as can be, There is no hope of finding love in that place. I'm just not looking for any relationships anytime soon, We all know the track record I have in that department." I was really bad when it came to relationships. All of them seem to end in disaster. My last one lasted only a total of about 5 months, then I found him in bed screwing his assistant. Ahh, the struggles of dating other lawyers. Most are self-centered assholes.

"Isn't that the truth? Who knows though, maybe you'll catch one of their eyes. There's always a chance."

"Yeah right! No New Kid would even bother to look at me. I might as well be wallpaper on the cabin walls. I gotta get going, but I'll see you soon. Love ya." I say as I reach to hang up. Tiffany responds on the other side with her well wishes for my trip and to fill her all in when I get back on land.

I began to warm up some leftovers in the oven from the previous night. While I wait, I decided to get on twitter. On there, I see that Jordan Knight has tweeted to all of his followers.

Can't wait to see you guys on the ship. Only 4 more days to go!!! #tink

I laughed and retweeted the tweet along with a quote saying I couldn't wait to party the nights away with him. Knowing I wouldn't get a response, I locked my phone away. I couldn't help myself from imagining what it would really be like to get to know a New Kid. If only Jordan was available for all the blockheads that have loved him for 25 years. Wait, scratch that. If only Jordan Knight was available for me after all these years. Oh well, I guess it's time for us blockheads to settle for second best. Second best may not have the voice of an angel, but he may treat you like royalty. That's all we girls want...right? At least, that's what I hope to eventually find. Enough about my non-existent love life. I needed to get the the final touches for my door designs and theme nights before I hop on a plane the next day.

--------------

I added my newly bought additions to my luggage and finally had all cruise preparations ready. Being this close to leaving, gosh I could barely believe how close I was to fulfilling a fantasy I've had since the very first cruise in 2009. I would be able to meet my idols and check off going on a cruise off my bucket list. For a while, I felt that going on this cruise alone could be a mistake, or even depressing. Then, I remembered how loving the blockhead fandom is. I would bond with my sisters as we all embark on this adventure of many with our idols. No matter what, our men would be loving us forever.
