"It's raining!" I pout.

Scott comes up behind me. "I guess we can't have our picnic."

I frown. "I've been waiting all week for our date."

"Well, we can do it another time I guess. We can have our date here."

"Scott, the point of a date is to go out." I roll my eyes.

"Wow, someone's negative. I have an idea, go put some sweatpants on."

"Why do I need-"

"Shhh, just do it. I'll be back in a few." He says and grabs a jacket.

"Where-" He shuts the door.

I go put some sweatpants on.

This is our last free day for a while, as we're leaving for tour soon.

I watch some TV while I wait for Scott to get home.

I start to get worried just when I hear his car pull into the driveway.

He walks into the house with a bunch of bags.

"Honey, I'm home!"

I part my mouth a little.

"I got everything that we need for a rainy day." He says and starts pulling stuff out.

I watch silently as he pulls out snacks, board games, and everything that we need to have a good time.

"You got all that?"

"Yeah, what else would we do today? I got us this big blanket, too, in case we decide to take a nap."

I hug him around the neck. "You're the best."

He kisses me on the lips. "I know."

"What should we do first?" I ask.

"We could play a game? Let's save the movies for later so we can be all cute and take a nap."

"Okay. Let's play Candy Land!" I exclaim.

He laughs. "Is that your favorite?"

I nod. "Remember when we would always play after school?"

He smiles. "Yeah. I miss being little. Wait, no I don't. I get paid now lol."

I start getting the game out while Scott spreads out the blanket.

We sit down on the big blanket.

"Let's make cookies while we play this." Scott says.

"Omg yes." I say and get out the cookie dough from the fridge.

Scott follows me and helps me put the cookie dough on the pan.

I preheat the oven and turn around to see Scott eating cookie dough.

"You filthy animal." I scold him.

"Ifs good." He says with a mouthful of dough.

I eat a piece, too.

"You filthy animal." He says mockingly.

"You're right, it is good."

"Candy Land!" Scott screams and runs into the living room.

I get out the pieces and set up everything.

"I'm younger so I go first." I say.

I take my turn and move my piece.

"Haha." Scott teases as he moves his piece farther than mine.

I frown. "Dang it."

I spin again and only move one space.

"UGHHH." I groan.

"Looks like you haven't changed in the last ten years." Scott says.

Scott spins and moves three spaces.

I spin and only move one.

If you can see where this is going, you know who won the game.

"YOOOOO." Scott says as he makes his winning move.

"Whatever, I'm still better than you." I say and walk into the kitchen.

The oven timer goes off.

"COOKIES!" Scott yells.

I cut off the oven and get the cookies out.

"Oh my god they smell so good." Scott says.

I grab a spatula. "Would you like to do the honors?"

"Can we just eat them off the pan?" Scott asks.

"Sounds good." I say and carry the tray into the den.

Scott puts the blanket on the couch. "Movies!"

"What do you wanna watch?" I ask, looking through the movies on Netflix.

"What's that one?" Scott asks with a mouthful of cookie.

I hover over one titled "Goodnight Mommy".

I read the description. "Ooh, that looks good. Let's watch it."

After watching the first couple minutes, we realize that the entire movie is, in fact, in German.

Scott and I sit and read the subtitles.

A large portion of the movie is silent, so we just sit and try to figure out what's going on.

Scott snuggles his head into my neck.

"Tired?" I mumble.

"Mhm."

I rest my head on top of his. "Goodnight. Love you."

"Goodnight."

Best rainy day ever.
