Clothes.

Tick.

Tock.

Time.

Mitch breathlessly pulls away from his interest.

The only sound in the room is the ticking of a clock.

"One more round?"

Mitch glances at the time and nearly has a heart attack.

"Shit... I- I- I'm really sorry, but..."

He motions to the clock.

"Oh! Right, right. Got it. I'll uh-"

"I'll call you." Mitch says and quickly throws himself together.

Before the experiment can answer, Mitch runs out of the apartment.

On the way home, a script races around in his head.

A script written by a desperate playwright.

Hey Mitch. Long day today?

Yeah, yeah. Lots of work lately.

Well, dinner's ready. I'll go get you a plate if you wanna sit down and watch some TV.

They were perfect.

Were.

"Hi babe!"

Mitch nearly flinches at the cheery voice of his...

Boyfriend.

"How was your day?"

Their lips touch together in something too meaningless to call a kiss.

"Good."

"Good! I made chicken Alfredo tonight..."

Tick.

Tock.

Tick.

Tock.

It was only a matter of time.

Mitch grabs his plate from the counter and brings it into the living room.
