Yay! New chapter! Hope I didn't keep you guys waiting too long. How did you like the cliffhanger? xD. This chapter is kind of an info dump, sorry.

Anyway, I'll make this fast; on the side there's a picture of Gabrielle going into the water, and the song The Scientist by Coldplay. Just for the sake of it, here are a few lyrics from the song:

Nobody said it was easy

It's such a shame for us to part

Nobody said it was easy

No one ever said it would be this hard

Oh, take me back to the start

I shall say no more.

Chapter 13

Gregory

Without even asking any questions, Gabrielle closed her bedroom door and a few seconds later, emerged out of her room completely dressed; Greg and her then walked the two of them together as quietly as possible out of the house, again, she asked no questions; it was complete silence the whole way.

Earlier today, when Greg saw that his sister’s skin had changed colors, he’d immediately known that something was going on; something bad.  The second clue that she had transformed had been the way she’d been able to keep up with him at swimming practice; even when he swum at almost top speed she was never far behind him. But it was only when she’d “forgotten” to eat her fish that Greg’s assumptions seemed to prove themselves true; Gabrielle had been in the ocean water, and was now officially a mermaid from the Deep. She was doomed to a dark life of servitude towards Auron; that is, if he decided to keep her alive.

Minutes later, when he and Gabrielle reached the beach, and the ocean was clearly calling to the both of them, Greg guided his sister to a small cabin near the water where those of the Deep kept all of their supply whenever it was necessary to go up to the surface.

“Here” He said to his sister, throwing her a towel. “You can strip with it around you, and I’ll turn around if it makes you that uncomfortable to change in front of me. But you need to let go of the towel once we’re in the water.” She nodded, and then turned around, as did he.

Greg didn’t need a towel; after being a merman for so long, nudity wasn’t something that he worried about quite often. In fact, clothes were a pain to him whenever he transformed; but still, he wrapped a towel around his waist so that he didn’t make his sister feel too uncomfortable.

He got undressed quickly, and in a flash, he already found himself in the water, waiting for Gabrielle.

A half-mercreature had the ability to decide when they could transform. They could be in the complete bottom of the ocean, and suddenly want to have legs instead of their tail, and they’re able to change and still have the ability to breathe; unlike actual merpeople that could only turn human once they were near the surface.

Finally, after what seemed to be an eternity of waiting in the water, his sister finally emerged out of the cabin, with her towel tightly wrapped around her skinny pale body. He saw her hesitate once she was near the water on the beach. Gabrielle gave him one of those looks that said: Dive in so that I can get rid of my towel.  Which also translated to: I don’t want you to see me naked!

Without wasting one second, Greg let himself fall into the water. As he slowly sank into the depths, he felt his legs transform into his dark blue merman tail.
