Promises

We promised we'd travel together before we turn 21. We promised we'd see places and people and go on adventures. I can already picture walking down cobblestoned hideaways and rowing down beautiful rivers. I'd like to take you to see the wonderful places I've been before, so I can share with you the sights that haven't left me since I returned from my trip. I know you'd be filled with awe too, and probably share stories with me by the rocky banks of the river. We could get fudge in the warm shop by the bridge, or camp in the forest filled with tall trees and small animals. I'd love to see that with you. I've never shared my deepest thoughts with anyone right as I come up with them, usually I have to wait a few days before I'm ready to tell someone, but if you shared the moment with me, and saw everything I saw, we could both think together, and maybe I'll tell you about what I'm thinking. That's hard for me to do, you know? I've been comfortable in my own silence for a while, and sharing what I believe are my most beautiful and abstract thoughts with someone seems a bit scary. But, if we stay friends (and I really hope we do) I'd love to go on an adventure with you.
