Wildfires and wildlife do not go together,
that is what they say.
Lush forests with thick canopies do not need flames to destroy them,
and cherry blossoms must not be tainted by ash upon their petals.
Wildfires destroy beauty,
that is what they say.
Strip the land bare,
rob it of all color and replace it with grey.
Rock faces and caves must not be ravaged
by the trickling flames of sheer distress.
Wildfires and wildlife do not mix, that may be true,
but beauty is found amongst the rubble and charred masses of destruction.
