Johnson's Vine account wasn't that big until he started doing Vines with Gilinsky because, he said in an interview, that they bounce ideas off of each other. It got him farther in life because their Vine account got more famous. Also Gilinsky was in show choir and stuff so he already knew how to sing and Johnson wasn't in choir so he rapped by himself. They then released music together and without Gilinsky he feels like he wouldn't have been able to rap in front of anyone or make music by himself.
