"What did Dr. Charles say this morning?" Liam ask me as we all sit down at a table in the cafeteria eating lunch
I shrug "Not much. They're taking him for more tests to make sure sepsis hasn't worsened" I explain what the doctor told me about Niall this morning
We've decided to take turns staying with Niall at night cause we have to do interviews in the morning still cause management is forcing us. So one of us stays here until the others arrive after interviews it was my turn to stay last night so Liam and Louis did interviews.
"What did he say that means; if he becomes worse?" Liam asks me
I glance at Louis next to Liam looking like he may pass out from sickness and exhaustion into his food. I shake my head silently, mouthing later.
Louis barely sleeps anymore. Nialls been in the hospital for two days and I haven't seen Louis sleep or eat once. He just picks at food and sits staring at Nialls room door sick everyday. We've tried to tell him he'll never get better if he doesn't rest but he doesn't listen to us. He's in a "fragile state" as Daniel calls it and he doesn't need anymore bad news.
"How are you doing Louis?" I ask him
He looks up at me weakly "'m fine" going back to playing with his food
I look at Liam asking him how he really is since I wasn't with him last night. He shakes his head also.
I sigh looking down. Everything's falling apart.
We quickly finish eating only making small talk, avoiding the topic of Niall for Louis' sake.
"Cmon Lou. Let's go see if you can visit Niall yeah?" Liam says helping him
"Yeah" he says emotionlessly
We go to Nialls room and wait outside for Dr. Charles to come out from doing his afternoon exam of Niall.
The door opens and a nurse and Dr. Charles comes out.
"Hello boys" he greets us smiling kindly
"How's Ni doing?" Liam asks quickly
"Um we're waiting on this mornings test results but he seams okay" he explains to us
"Good. Um do you think maybe Louis could see him today?" I motion towards the lifeless boy next to me
"Hopefully! How are you feeling Louis?"
"I'm okay" is all he says
I look at the doctor pleadingly. "Alright well come here and I'll take your temperature" he puts the device in Louis' ear but sighs
"I'm sorry Louis your still running a fever-" before he could even finish Louis walks away quickly
"Louis wait!" I start to go after him
"Um actually could I talk to one of you?" Dr. Charles asks
"You stay. I'll make sure he's alright" I nod and Liam runs after Louis
"What's up?" I ask turning back to the doctor
"I want to talk to you about Louis" he tells me as we walk down to hall in the opposite direction of Liam and Louis
"Louis?" I ask confused
"I know it may not be my place to discuss this but I spoke with Louis a bit the night Niall was admitted and I have some concerns about his health"
I sigh "I know we've been trying to get him to take his flu medication but-"
"No I'm not talking about the flu"
