My first thought was a horrible one.
He's dead.
I was in my car speeding down the highway so fast I don't even remember how I got in my car. I'm exhausted. I shouldn't be driving.
He's dead.
I couldn't stop thinking it as much as I wanted to I couldn't. The two little words just wouldn't leave my brain.
"Harry!" I look to my left as soon as I walk in the door to find annie sat alone in the waiting room with dried tears on her cheeks and blood coating her pajamas
"Annie" I rush over to her and she immediately jumps and hugs me "where is he?"
She pulls away from me wiping her face with her hands "I don't know. They didn't let me ride in the ambulance, so I haven't seen him since we let his house. They rushed him into a room and told me I had to wait here" she shakes her head
I move her to sit gently holding her elbow and sitting in the seat next to her.
"Is Daniel with them?"
She nods "yeah, I think so."
"Has anyone come out to give you an update?"
She bits her lip then, so hard I'm worried she's going to make herself bleed "No. W-hat if he's dead and it's all my fault." Her voice shakes "I-I told you all to go home. That I could handle things." She shakes her head bitting her lip as tears spill from her eyes "you w-would have known what to do. I just-I panicked, Harry, I didn't-"
"Hey" I stop her before she can continue drowning herself in guilt "it's alright. Calm down. You did exactly what we all would have done. Panicked, called Daniel, called 999. You did everything you could. Don't blame any of this on yourself."
We sit in silence for a moment while she calms down and absorbs my words "He can't be dead. He just can't."
"I'm sure he'll be fine. I mean, this is Niall. Do you know how many times that kid has cheated death the past two years" I joke earning a weak smile from her while she tugs at the hem of shirt anxiously
"God, you're covered in blood. You should have told me to bring you clothes" I sigh
She looks down at herself just seeming to notice the blood coating her clothes. "Oh yeah, I didn't really think about it."
"Harry" I look up seeing Liam and Louis with the same panicked look on their faces
"Where is he?" They immediately ask the same question as me
"Not sure. Annie said they took him back and told her to wait here and they haven't given her an update." I explain to them so she doesn't have to
"Well, let's get a fucking update then" Louis says starting to storm towards the nurses station
"Hey" Liam grabs his shoulder "be nice. Don't get in a fight with a nurse or something. It's not their fault if the doctor isn't giving them info" Liam tells him calmly trying to keep a cool head
"Yeah, yeah" He nods going over to the nurses station
"How are you doing?" Liam turns to Annie
