My hands tremble with nerves as I walk up to Mindys home front door. I finally worked up the nerve to ask Annabella out. Louis' right. I know it's really soon but she's a great girl, so I need to act fast before someone else gets to her.
I look down at myself, straightening out my clothing before I knock on the door nervously.
The door opens to reveal Mindy. "Niall? I thought you weren't coming back until tomorrow?" She says confused
"I know, I ah actually came to talk to Annie" I tell her
A confused look crosses her face but it's soon replaced by understanding "ohh I see" she smiles going back inside "Annie someone's at the door for you!" She tells her
"What? Who?" Annie walks up to the door her dark brown hair done messily up in a top not, in sweatpants and a tshirt with not a drop of makeup on her face and I can't help the massive smile that forms on my face. She's so beautiful.
"Niall!" She smiles surprised to see me
"Hi Annie" I start "you look beautiful" I smile speaking genuinely
She laughs and shakes her head wrapping her arms around her small waist "no I don't but thanks" a blush forms on her cheeks "um so what's up?" She asks confused by my presence no doubt
"Ah so I know this may seam a bit odd but I wanted to ask you if you'd like to go out to lunch with me?" I ask nervously fidgeting
She laughs tucking a loose stand of hair behind her ear "like on a date?" I nod nervously "we barely know each other!" She points out
"So, come on a date with me and we'll get to know each other" I tell her cheekily
She bites her lip adorably eyeing me skeptically "Okay"
"Really!?" I practically jump out of joy
"Yeah I'd love to" she smiles laughing a bit at my excitement "I have to go get proper clothes on. Come in and wait for me?" She asks
"Yeah of course!" I walk in and go into the kitchen while Annie gets ready upstairs
"You have to tell her" Mindy says once Annie is gone
I look at her confused "what?"
"I Know you're avoiding telling her about your cancer" she points out
I shake my head "I'm not. It just ah hasn't come up" I say awkwardly
"Niall" she looks at me blankly "you have to tell her eventually"
"I know" I sigh
"Look Niall, I know you don't want to tell her. Hell, Shy didn't want to tell any of her friends and she was five. But she has to know. Her and Shyla were really really close. She was like a second mother to her. And Annabella is going through a lot now that she's gone. She has to know that you have cancer also Niall, she has to be prepared for whatever may...happen" she says a bit awkwardly not wanting to say the actual words
"If I drop dead you mean" I say bluntly
"Niall..." She looks at me guiltily
"No, I know. you're right." I admit
"Right about what?" Annie walks into the room in a new lovely casual outfit and a bit of makeup on and her hair done nicely; she still looks just as beautiful.
I shake my head "Nothing" I smile walking over to her "Ready?"
"I guess so" she nods "I'll be back later Mindy"
