"How do you feel?" Annie asks sitting cross legged on my bed with me

"I'm fine, don't worry" I assure her though the grimace on my face because of how painful it was to speak probably didn't convince her

She doesn't question it though and instead just slides under the covers and wraps her self around me keeping my feverish body warm.

"Thanks for being my nurse" I smile running my fingers through her long hair

"Don't mention its." She smiles "I'll always take care of you"

"I think I'm suppose to be the one saying that to you" I point out

She shrugs "we take care of each other. Besides I quite like just being with you. No matter the circumstances. I feel like it's rare we ever get this long of uninterrupted time."

"Mhm" I hum "its rare that the lads are actually not here, hovering. They're always around, especially when I'm having treatment. Not that it's a bad thing but you know, they're always around"

"Yeah... I may have told them I got this round covered" she smirks

I laugh a bit but the pain in my throat becomes too much for me to handle and I stop painfully rubbing my neck.

"You sure you're alright? Daniel left me with some painkillers if you want?" She offers concern laced in her British voice

I shake my head "nah I'm fine."

"If you say so." She mumbles "but don't come crying to me when you're in pain later" she points her dainty finger in my face

"I'll be fine," I push her finger away with an amused grin "promise" I kiss her forehead softly

"You better be" she pulls herself closer to me.

Annie stayed with me. She stayed wrapped in my arms as Daniel placed yet another painful IV in my bruising chest, she stayed as I slept for hours letting poison fill my bloodstream, she stayed for multiple days as I got up multiple times to loose the small amounts of food that were inside me...she stayed. And that's more than I could ever ask of anyone.

What's that called when your 100% positive you've experienced the same thing you're currently experiencing before? Right, dejavú. That's the only way to describe this feeling. Looking down at the crook of my arm speckled in blood after another painful coughing fit. Extreme dejavú.

"Niall!" I snap back into reality wiping the blood off with a tissue quickly

"Yeah?" I call back checking my reflection in the mirror wiping a few spots of red off my chin

"Are you alright? Were you sick again?" Annie asks worriedly

"No, no Im fine"

"Alright, well, come down when you're ready I made breakfast."

"Okay I'm coming" why? Why was this happening now? Annie's only been here for three days. We haven't had long enough for my life to already be going to shit again right?

"Hey" she smiles up at me once I walk in

"Hi" I peck her cheek letting my cares wash away "what did you make?"

"Eggs and sausage" she shrugs

"It smells great" I compliment placing plates and forks in the small breakfast table in the kitchen

"Thanks, but to be fair it's the only breakfast I know how to make" she chuckles "I usually eat at the hospital"

I cringe "in my experience hospital food is awful"
