June 23, 2016: This is a mini(ish) imagine. I'm also working on the requests I have received...sorry for the wait. Anyways, thanks for reading!

Oh, I  also have this interesting idea for an imagine. If possible, I want to try to write a "choose your own adventure" imagine. I haven't exactly worked out the logistics yet, but this imagine would allow you to choose who you end up with or what happens. It would rely on some reader accountability too (like, if I write, "Go to --- part of the story," you would only turn to that part of the story).

So comment which characters you'd want this type of imagine to be for!

And...finally:

Thranduil is trying to find his young son, Legolas.

"Legolas!" Thranduil yelled, not out of anger but out of concern for his only son.

He was running around Mirkwood in order to find where his son has wandered off. The young king's heart was pounding as he looked every place his son could have been.

Please be safe. Please, you are the only thing I have left of her.

She, the elf that stole his heart. The elf that ruled Mirkwood faithfully by his side. The elf that went into battle with him, time after time.

The elf that was slain too soon.

Thranduil felt the need to find Legolas...for her.

After searching for a few more minutes on his own, Thranduil decided that it was folly to search for Legolas all by himself; therefore, he enlisted the help of his guards to scour Mirkwood.

The guards devoted all of their attention to finding the king's son, but they hadn't found any signs of the missing elfling.

Thranduil's heart was aching at the thought of never seeing his child again, and it was too much to bear even momentarily. In order to get his wits about him, Thranduil headed towards Legolas' room to see if there were any missing toys or clues that could assist him in his quest to find his son.

Turning the handle, he opened the wooden door to reveal a tidy room.

The anxious father didn't notice any toys or blankets littering the floor.

Nothing else is missing...only my son.

A saddening thought then crept into Thranduil's mind.

I have made many enemies over the years. It is possible that Legolas was taken from me in the night. But how? I have highly trained guards and-

Thranduil found a rocking chair in the corner and sat down; he needed to sit down for the thought of never seeing his child again was sickening. When Thranduil was younger, he never understood why his parents obsessed over his safety. Now, he knew why. This child was like an extension of himself, and even though he had only been missing for a few hours, it felt as if someone ripped Thranduil's heart out of his chest.

Thranduil sighed and placed his hands over his eyes.

He then stood up, getting ready to order the guards to search in the nearby kingdoms.

As Thranduil started walking, he felt something tug at the end of his robe.

"Adar!" the little elf smiled at him.

Thranduil's eyes widened. "Legolas!"

He picked up Legolas and embraced him. "Where were you?" the elven-king questioned.

Legolas looked confused, "I was sleeping in my bed, and you always tell me not to leave the bed until you come and wake me up."

Thranduil was speechless.

"I got out of bed because Adar looked sad," the elfling continued.

"I, uh-"

Legolas grinned. "It's okay now because Legolas is here!"

Thranduil chuckled. "Yes, it is okay now."

Thranduil hugged Legolas, looked upward, and whispered, "I may make mistakes, but I will always try to protect our son and be the best father I can be."
