July 12, 2016: Mini imagine for all the Merry lovers out there! Special thanks to Rebs222 for the idea!

With Merry at your side, there's sure to be some mischief in Hobbiton.

"Well," Merry started. "This could have been a lot worse."

You glare at him. "A lot worse?" Raising your voice, you repeated yourself, "A lot worse?!"

Merry shrugged. "I mean, Farmer Maggot could have taken away this carrot," he said, slowly taking out a carrot from his pocket.

You slapped the carrot out of his hand.

"We're locked in a shed after stealing Farmer Maggot's crop!" you point out.

After picking up the carrot from the ground, he wiped off the dust and turned to face you, "Actually, we're only locked in here until we tell Farmer Maggot where Pippin is."

You rolled your eyes. "Aren't you forgetting something?"

Merry placed his hand on his chin. "I'm fairly certain I'm not."

"We don't even know where Pippin ran off to!" you yell at Merry.

He, however, ignored your frustrated screams and scooted closer to you as he began to speak, "At least I'm here with you."

"What's that supposed to mean?" you ask, raising your eyebrows.

"I just wanted to let you know that I've liked you ever since I can remember," Merry continued.

"What are you saying, Merry?"

You were genuinely confused at this point by Merry's sudden confession.

Merry, however, kept on speaking. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. I don't think I could live without you."

"Uh, Merry, I don't feel the same way about you," you said, sheepishly.

"Of course you don't, Y/N," he replied in a matter of face tone.

"But you just confessed to me!" you cried out.

He shook his head in disagreement. "No, I was talking to this carrot," Merry said as he held up the carrot.

"Why would I say those things about you?" Merry laughed maniacally.

You shoved him, "Because you 'don't think you could live without me.' "

"I could live without you," he scoffed.

"Really? How do you get back home from here?" you questioned, crossing your arms.

His face dropped with defeat.

"That doesn't prove anything," Merry defended.

"Just continue talking to your true love, Ms. Carrot," you teased.

"I will, thank you very much."
