I went back to Liam’s office and just sat there. His scent comforting me and I felt numb to everything but raw inside at the same time. Liam rushed into the room and sat beside me. I looked at him curious.
“Why did you and your pack move so close? Packs aren’t so close. I mean AX and Rex Pack is like 2 states away.” I asked him.
Pack lands were huge and we tried not to build close to a border that had another pack living there. He looked at me surprised. “Um. We just acquired this land and we moved to have a relationship with your pack. Your father wanted an alliance and someone...” He trailed off.
“Someone to take over when he died? You moved here so they could get use to you being an alpha.” I finished for him.
He looked at me guilty and I sighed. “It’s not your fault.”
He pulled me in his lap. “I love you.”
I smiled at his words and I leaned over and nipped at his mark. He gasped and moaned. I smirked getting the reaction I wanted.
We had stayed in his office for the rest of the day and at dinner Scott demanded we all go for a walk. It was awkward with everyone glancing at me seeing if I would snap. I hugged Scott close to me and watched Ella dance underneath the twinkling lights and fire flies. I smiled at the sight.
I turned to everyone. “I’m fine let’s just enjoy tonight. Jenson can we talk?”
I motioned for him to follow me. We walked far away from the group not to be overheard. “Look. I do not trust you. Not completely. But I do want to know what you know.” I sighed and hesitated. “I also want you to tell me about my father. What he was like.”
Jenson smiled at me and nodded. “I understand. I will be happy to help you and tell you about him. I did love him very much.”
I nodded and shifted uncomfortable not sure what else to say so we walked back to everyone. Liam sighed and smiled happy it went well. Than suddenly Jenson tackled me to the ground.
“Da fuck?” I yell as he covers me. Gunshots ring out missing us within inches. Jenson and I scramble up and start running towards the house. I see Sara pull Scott with her and Ella in her arms. Roger is fighting with Liam trying to get him to go with him. Liam isn’t going without me.
I run and grab his arm yanking him with me. “RUN YOU IDIOT!”
We made it to the house and hear Sara scream out. I run to her and see Scott growling in pain. His arm was bleeding badly. I cleaned up his arm and saw the bullet went straight through so I wrapped a bandage around it and pulled him to me.
After I had calmed down we sent him to get some sleep. I told him to go to our room so he would be comforted with our scents. To bad for Liam. As soon as he left my eyes turned back and I turned to everyone.
“We are going to find out who is doing this and I am going to rip them A part.” I said calmly.
Liam looked at me in surprise and worry and followed me as I walked outside.
“We have to know the scent! We have to find out who is doing this!” I growled headed into the woods.
My body is shaking in anger. I feel close to shifting.
“Baby you have to calm down! We don’t know if you can shift yet! I don’t want you hurt.!” Liam yanked me to him trying to calm me down.
“CALM DOWN?! NO THEY KEEP ATTACKING MY SON!” I snarled screaming at him. My fangs and claws come out. The ground starts to shake and the trees moving with the gusting wind.
I growled out feeling the power that I had never felt before course through me. Thunder shook us and Jenson ran up to Liam whispering something in his ear but I don’t care. I started walking more into the woods when someone grabs me from behind holding a rag to my face. The scent of wolfs bane hits me and I pass out.
