Fifth year had started. You were sitting on the stands of the Quidditch pitch, watching the Gryffindor fly around, your major crush Albus Potter flying around.

You wrung your hands together as you stared at Albus, sighing. He had been your crush since the start of second year. Albus had never been your friend exactly, but he did know you existed.

Rolling your eyes at your own stupid thoughts, you leaned back across the bench.

Albus flew around the pitch ten minutes after practice was over. He couldn't stop thinking about that stupid move, the Wronski Feint. Albus wanted to learn it, but didn't know how to do it.

All of a sudden Albus noticed a girl, lying on her back on the benches. Her (Y/H/C) hair was spread around her head, and she looked asleep.

Flying down, he stopped next her, jumping off his broom. Oh, it was just (Y/N). She was the girl he'd loved since the beginning of his life at Hogwarts. She was breathing peacefully, her eyes fluttering.

"Hey Albus." Murmured (Y/N). Jumping, Albus turned around to face you.

You stared at him, wondering why he was there.

"Oh - hey (Y/N). I didn't know you were awake." Albus said, smiling.

You stared at him, sighing, losing yourself in his eyes.

"(Y/N)?" He asked, making you jump back to reality.

"Sorry! Sorry..." You muttered.

"I was... Um... I was wondering... If maybe.... Maybe you'd.... Um.... Like to go on a date with me sometime? To Hogsmeade." Albus stammered.

You stared at him, confused. "Wait, what?" You asked.

"I like you." He mumbled. "A lot."

Whoa, wait what?

"Can I get back to you on that?" You asked.

His smile dropped as you ran off.

The Quidditch pitch was overflowing with people. It was Gryffindor vs. Slytherin, and everyone was excited.

Albus was pacing in the locker room when James came up to him.

"Hey little bro. What's wrong?" James asked.

"I asked out (Y/N), like you said I should, and she turned me down!" Albus yelled.

"Did she? Did she really?" James asked.

"Well, no... She just didn't answer." Albus sighed.

"Well whatever happened it's not important now, because we've got a match to win!" James cried.

Albus looked down at his feet and muttered, "I don't want to play."

"WHAT?" Cried James.

"Al, do it for her!" James yelled.

Albus sighed, rolling his eyes, and muttered, "Fine."

You sat in the crowd, watching as Albus soared around, looking for the snitch.

Sighing, you felt your insides twist as he glanced at you.

Suddenly he was out of sight.

"ALBUS POTTER HAS SEEN THE SNITCH!" Yelled the announcer. "GO POTTER!" Screamed the Gryffindors. You leaned over the edge of the balcony, and then you heard, "GRYFFINDOR HAS WON!" Cried the announcer.

Then you got shoved over the edge, screaming as you shot towards the ground.

Albus couldn't think as he shot towards her, and then he was holding her, five feet from the ground.

(Y/N) was passed out, and as Albus yelled out for help, he lowered himself down to the ground. "Albus!" James gasped.

Albus nodded at James before running towards the school.

When you woke up, you saw Albus leaning over you, looking nervous.

"Albus...." You groaned, reaching for him.

He grabbed your wrist and whispered, "Don't hurt yourself."

"I'll be fine." You said, sitting up. You immediately regretted it though, because your head started pounding.

"I - I'm sorry I didn't answer you when you asked me out." You said, looking down.

"I just never thought someone like you could like someone like me." You sighed. Now that you had started though, you couldn't stop.

"I love you Al. I never told you, and it was probably the biggest mistake of my life. I wish I could explain to you how you make me feel, but it's so complex that I don't know how. I - I know I've told you that before, but this is different. You shut me out in fourth year, and I didn't know what to do. But now, I do know what to, so I will." You stood, stumbling a little, then grabbed his hands and said, "Yes, Albus Severus Potter, I will go out with you." Then you kissed him.

"Thank you." He said when you pulled away.

"For what?" You asked, smiling.

"For not breaking me the way I could've been broken. And through all the bumps and bruises, I'll always love you."
