Surprise (George)

"George..." You groaned, as your boyfriend dragged you up the stairs of Hogwarts. "Why are we here? We graduated five years ago."

"I know." George said. "But I have a surprise, and I wanted to give it to you in the place we met."

"That's cute." You said, smiling at him. "But why can't you just tell me what the surprise is?"

George shook his head. "No, (Y/N), then it wouldn't be a surprise." He said, looking at you quickly before continuing to walk.

When you reached the outside of the Gryffindor common room, everyone who was there when the two of you met were there. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Seamus, and Dean. Fred had been there too, but... You know.

"George, what's going on?" You asked, glancing at your boyfriend nervously.

George sighed, before grabbing both your hands and stared into your eyes. "(Y/N) (M/N) (L/N), I met you twelve years ago, right here in front of the common room. You were scared and lost, and you didn't know what you were doing. I don't want you ever to feel like that again. Someone once told me that life's too short to keep secrets. And I haven't, not from you. Except for this one thing that I've wanted to do for so long now." George sucked in  a breath, before dropping down on one knee.

You gasped, your hand slapping over your mouth in shock as Ron threw his brother a small velvet box. "(Y/N), I... I  told you that I loved you. But I never said that I'm in love with you, because that seems so strong, but it's true. I'm in love with you. And if I can't have you, no one can. So, I want to be the only one who can." George said, his voice shaking. "So, (Y/N) (Y/M/N) (L/N), will you marry me?"

You were stunned and frozen, your knees were weak and you couldn't speak. Everyone was staring at the two of you, some in tears, some smiling hugely.

"Y-Yes... Yes!" You said, and George jumped up, kissing you hard. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and he picked you up and spun you around. When he put you back down, he slid the ring on your finger, and kissed you again.

"So that was the surprise?" You asked, your voice soft and happy. George nodded, and you smiled.

"I'm glad you didn't tell me then." You said, before he kissed you again.
