Chapter 12: Bloody Rose Pedals

After we played around at the dock Brennen, Ella, and I went back to the Ice dorms.

"Hello!?" I yelled while closing the door. School was now out so I was wondering where everyone was.

I walked into the kitchen and found James staring angrily at me.
"Where were you all day!" He asked.
I knew I couldn't tell him about the Gifted Six so I had to make something up.

Luckily Ella saved me. "Us three skipped." She told James.
"What!" James yelled. "I can't believe you would do that!"
"It's not that big of a deal. I bet we didn't learn anything today." Brennen shrugged.
"First off we did learn somethings, and second off Jaxon! You were supposed to help me with something."

I had completely forgotten about helping James.

"James I'm so sorry I-" I told him.
"I what!? Messed up? Well yeah you did pretty badly." He snarled.

Brennen, Ella, and I stormed out of the dorms.

"You guys go on ahead." I told them.
"Are you sure?" Ella asked.
"Yeah." I told her.

I walked into the backyard of the dorms right now I didn't want to face James.

The backyard wasn't big. It had one picnic table and a tree with some flowers around it.
I walked over to the picnic table and sat down at it.

A tear fell down my cheek.
I had, had a chance to make a new start, new friends and I had. But already in two weeks I had torn it apart.

Rose walked into the backyard.

"Hi... Jaxon?" Rose said concerned.
"What." I asked.
"Are you alright?" She asked walking over to me.
"No; I'm not." I told her.
"What happened?" She asked me sitting down beside me.
"James and I got into a fight." I answered.
"But you guys are like best friends."
"That's what I thought." I said sadly.
"What happened?" Rose questioned.
"I promised him I would help him with something, and I forgot." I explained.
"Oh." She said.
