After "Love"

Stores : Chapter 6

Beth's POV

I was woken up by Jake jumping up and down in the plush bed.

"You're acting like a little kid." I said smiling.

"I know, you married this kid." Jake said with a serious expression.

"Yeah, I guess I did." I said with a playful glare.

"Okay, well get up! I'm making you go with me, wifey." Jake said as he hopped off the bed.

Rolling my eyes, I rolled off the bed which caused me to fall to the floor. Before I fell to the floor, I was caught by Jake's body underneath mine as he put his arms around my waist.

"Woah." I said amazed at his stunt.

"Hey, I have to protect my wife!" Jake said smiling at me.

"I know but that was like supernatural." I said still amazed.

"Hey, I have to keep you safe." Jake said as he smirked.

Jake got up with me still in his grasp. Once we were off the floor, Jake gave me a kiss and went off to the bathroom. Amazed at what had happened, I was standing beside the bed in shock.

"You gonna get ready? We are going to be very busy today!" Jake said peeking his head out of the bathroom.

I smiled at him and followed him in the bathroom.

"You know I'm going to shower right?" Jake said smirking.

""Oh, I know!" I said smirking right back at him.

He gave a larger smirk at me and grabbed another towel. Jake got in the shower and I followed him right in.

After I showered and got dressed, Jake and I went to the lobby.

"I'm hungry." I said as I heard my stomach growl.

"I know, I hear it." He said referring to my stomach.

I smile innocently at him and grab his hand. We walk out of the hotel and to find a place to eat some breakfast.

"Where are we going?" I asked Jake.

"Just wait, it's right around the corner." Jake said smiling.

We went around the corner and I saw many shops. Jake led me into a cute little shop.

"Welcome!" The man said as we walked into the door.

I smiled at him and he led us to a table for two. As he went to leave, I picked up a menu and looked for something to eat.

"Do you know what any of this is?" I asked Jake.

"I looked for something you would like, trust me." He said.

"Okay." I said wondering about what I was going to eat.

He smiled at me and the man came back over so we could order our food.

"What would you like?" The man asked.

Jake smiled at me and pointed on the menu to show the waiter. He wasn't letting me know what it is.

"Great choice!" The man said as he scribbled something down on his notepad and left.

"What is it?" I asked eagerly.

"Nope, it's a surprise." Jake said smiling at me.

Rolling my eyes, I thought about my newly made husband.

"You're spacing out, are you okay?" Jake asked as I popped out of my imagining mind.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." I said smiling at him.

"Okay." He said before I grabbed his hands from across the table.

My hands pretty much disappeared in his grasp. Then I saw the waiter walk over with two plates.

"Here you are, sir. And you, ma'am." He said smiling at me.

I smiled back and he left with the tray in his hands.

"You didn't say anything?" I asked.

"What?" Jake said as he looked up from his plate.

"The man was flirting." I said catching his attention.

"Where did he go?" He growled.

"I'm kidding, chill. He was just being nice." I said chuckling at his reaction.

Jake shook his head at me and went to scoop his food up with his fork.

"So, what is this?" I ask him.

"Pancakes topped with maple whipped cream with fruit on the side." He said smiling.

"Oh." I said excited to taste them.

When I looked at the food, I found pancakes underneath all the maple whipped cream.

-- After eating.

"So did you like it?" Jake asked.

"Yes, it was amazing." I said as we were walking out the door.

He grabbed my delicate hand and intertwined our fingers.

"I love you." Jake said smiling at me.

"I love you too." I said smiling back at him.

Walking farther down the sidewalk, he stopped at a clothes shop.

"Go ahead and look around... I'll be right back." Jake said which confused since he never leaves me alone.

"O-okay." I say as he gives me a kiss on my cheek and ran away.

I'm confused and feel I should follow him but I do as said and go into the store. Looking around, I find a really pretty shirt. Grabbing it from the table, I go into the dressing room and change into it. As I went out of the room, I saw a mirror and looked at my reflection.

"That's really pretty!" A man says from behind me.

"Um... thanks." I said as I went to go back into the dressing room.

"Wait!" The man says as he grabs my left hand.

At that moment, he felt my wedding ring and looked so empty.

"Nevermind." He says letting my hand go.

Going back into the dressing room, I change back. I grab my shirt and got out of the dressing room.

"Oh, there you are." Jake says with a smile.

"Yeah." I said smiling back.

Jake looked down at the shirt in my hand and smiled.

"Did you want to buy it?" Jake asked.

"Yes." I said smiling so innocently.

He just smiled at me and took the shirt from my hands leading me to the counter.

"Is this all?" The same man at the counter said that was flirting with me.

"Yes." Jake says grabbing my hand.

Feeling bad for the man, I give him some happiness...

"Have a good day!" I say as we leave the store with my bag.

He smiles weakly and goes back to doing some work.

"So, where did you go?" I ask Jake who looked very excited.

"Some where." He said mysteriously.

I looked at him suspiciously and frown.

"Hey, smile. You don't have to worry about anything." Jake said.

I gave him a huge grin and he did the same back.
