channie boy ; how did your date go?

Julienne wiped the sleep from her eyes and sat up in her bed, grabbing her phone and replying back to Chan.

julie ; can i call you?

Chan responded a minute later affirmatively, so Julienne dials his number and waits for him to answer.

"Hello," Chan's voice sounds very raspy and his words are dragging. Julienne can tell he just woke up. "What's up?"

"I just woke up," Julienne replied, yawning right after, "do you want to hear about the date?"

"Yes, please," Chan said a little too fast. He felt that familiar racing of his heart returning once again.

"He invited me to his house for a movie," Julienne answered, "and at first I was a little skeptical about it."

"Why?" Chan asked.

"Back in America, when someone asks you to come over for a movie, it's like a way to ask for...for s-sex," Julienne muttered, suddenly becoming shy.

"What is sex in Korean?" Chan said, utterly confused.

"I think its pronounced segseu," Julienne responded.

"JULIENNE DID YO-"

"No, no! We didn't!" Julienne groaned, "We only watched a movie, it was called Foreign."

Chan was now wide awake. He knew that movie so well, Myung always talked about that movie. It's a romance, one of those cheesy romances that are just unbelievably corny. However, he knew girls loved that movie, since it was "cute" and "made their hearts race."

Wonwoo is a smart boy, Chan thought.

"So," Chan asked, "What happened after the movie?"

Julienne stopped at this. Should she just tell Chan what happened between her and Wonwoo, is it too early? They technically were already a thing, so she should just Chan know the truth. Besides, he asked that she'd be more truthful anyways.

"O-Oh we," Julienne stammered, "said we liked one another."

"Oh?" Chan sighed, his eyebrow raising, "how'd that go?"

"It went fine," Julienne said, "after the movie, we just sat and talked for an hour more, then he walked me to the door, held my hand for a while, and asked me to text him when I got home safely."

There's a silence between them for a few seconds, where they just listen to each other's breathing for a while. It was not an awkward silence, they both were just taking in the conversation they shared.

"Are you mad about something?" Julienne wondered.

"No, I'm fine," Chan lied, "so are you and him a thing now?"

"No, not right now, we're just going slowly."

Chan nodded, and sighed into the receiver. Julienne did the same, giggling when Chan groaned at her being a nuisance.

"Promise me something," Chan asked.

"What is it?" Julienne wondered.

"That if Wonwoo hurts you, in any way," Chan said, "you will call me. Okay?"

"I promise," Julienne swore, "now promise me something."

"What?"

Julienne smiled slightly, lying back on her bed facing the ceiling.

"When you find the right girl for you," Julienne asked, "you'll talk to me all about her. You'll come to me and let me know everything. You promise?"

Chan didn't answer immediately. Her throat got a little swollen as he tried to hold back the tears in his eyes. The tears arrived suddenly, and he reached up and wiped a tear from his face.

"Chan?"

Chan cleared his throat to let Julienne know he was still there. He took a breath, and mustered all the confidence he could into his voice.

"You have my word."
