Alright, it's time to bring in the first cliche I will be talking about in this book:

The Bad Boy

We've seen books about him all over Wattpad, ranging from him being with the new girl to being with the secretly hot nerd.

I personally am not a fan of these and have only found one bad boy story that has interested me so far, and that's The Bad Boy Stole my Bra.

Now, I haven't read it yet, but just by the description on her blurb, I can see how it will have its cliches. I also see how it will be unique compared other bad boy stories, though.

Onto the actual subject now!

These books don't even portray actual bad boys. They just portray what Greasers from the book The Outsiders look like. And those dudes are just chill and happy-go-lucky, and a bit depressed at the end of the story. They wear grungy clothes, black jeans, and have those black leather jackets; these boys also have greased back hair and some bikes.

But guess what? That isn't a bad boy!

A bad boy is a male student who is into drinking, drugs, partying and is feared by his classmates. He is not the popular guy that every girl wants to have sex with. And he will surely, most definitely, will not date a nerd, shy girl, or a newbie. He will date girls who will do the same stuff as him, and that's drinking, sharing needles, etc.

I haven't actually encountered a "bad boy" in my lifetime, but my mom and dad both had boys like this in their high school life. These kids didn't dress like how most bad boys are portrayed either.

This cliche is one of the worst here on Wattpad. It's not the correct definition of bad boy and also makes girls believe dating a bad boy is desirable. That's not a good message to put out!

Now, if you're writing a Teen Fiction or Romance with a bad boy, please write them truthfully. Show the struggles they go through and also how many people fear them. And if there's a new girl as your heroine (anyone else kinda laughing here? Haha... No?) then please make her realistic for when she does interact with the bad boy in the story. Don't have her somehow changing him for the better, that is very very rare.

Hopefully this helped? I feel it was more of a rant tbh XD
