Whatever was causing the major influx of Akuma in New Zealand, Zion and Xael decided to take what they discovered back to the cabin and not pursue anymore. They knew that they couldn't stand a chance against the massive amount of demons without the help of Lavi and Kanda.

The girls wrapped their arms around each other's shoulders to help keep themselves upright, seen as they did have a few sore bruises and scratches.

They were back at the cabin by the designated curfew, and the lights were already on inside, so the boys must have made it back to.

But they were greeted with chaotic worry when they walked through the doors. Kanda was the first to jog up to them and take Zion's weight from the shorter girl. "What the Hell happened, Zi?" He growled, showing his worry in his own way. "You've got blood all over you."

"It's not that bad." She reasoned. "We fought a Level Three, so we're a little beat up, but not too badly."

Lavi joined them, focused primarily on Xael. "Are you guys okay to walk?"

"Yeah, yeah. We're fine. After a night of rest, we'll be good as new." The darker-haired girl brushed him off. "But I think we found the area where the Akuma are coming from." She brightened up. "We can scout it out tomorrow. We just didn't want to face all of them without you guys."

"Are you sure you'll be okay by tomorrow? We can wait a little bit longer." The red-haired boy suggested. "We should make sure that you are one-hundred percent before we go to battle."

"I agree." Kanda grumbled, frustrated that he was actually agreeing with the taller boy. "Let's give it three days."

"Come on, I'm the one in charge here." Zion whined. "We can do it tomorrow, right Xael?"

"Yeah, we'll be totally fine." Xael agreed.

"No." The boys stated sternly in unison.

"Fu, so mean." The brunette pouted.

Xael also huffed bitterly and stomped up to her room, followed by a limping Zion.

Lavi folded his arms over his chest. "Man, dealing with two women is pretty annoying when they're on the opposite side of you. Since when were they so close?"

Kanda responded with a grunt and disappeared into another room.

------------

Later that evening, once she was showered and relaxed, Zion collapsed onto her bed in exhaustion. She had locked the door, simply planning on just falling asleep.

But there was a loud rap on the wooden frame, which was easily recognizable.

With a sigh, she answered it. Surely enough, Kanda was standing there, tapping his foot irritably. "What's up with you?" She asked.

He pushed her inside and forced her back against the wall, then made sure to shut the door behind him. He leaned over her, resting his arm on the portion of wall above her head.

"Geez, what's going on?"

"I'm mad at you." He huffed, glaring straight into her slightly scared hazel eyes.

"Clearly." She retorted. "Why?"

"'Cause you paired me with Lavi." He explained with disgust, then continued. "But more importantly, you went off on your own and ended up getting hurt, idiot."

She scoffed. "I'm perfectly capable of dealing with things by myself. And I wasn't alone. I was with Xael, who is also perfectly capable."

"You could have been protected if I were there."
