(Y/N)'s POV
Around 5pm I woke up from my nap and later at 7pm, Niall and I will Skype. The last time he was home, it was 4 months ago and I miss him so much. The time he left for the tour, that was the day I found out I was pregnant with our first baby.
“I'm starving.” I thought to myself
I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge to have a slice of vanilla cake, because that's all we have. I realized that I needed to go grocery shopping.
“Okay babe, cake is all we got for today.” I said while rubbing my belly.
I grab the plate and ate it at the kitchen counter. After eating it for like 20 minutes I washed the plate and went to the bathroom to take a shower.
When I got pregnant, I started to stay in the shower for a very long time. My shortest time in the bathroom is an hour, which I think it's not normal for a pregnant woman.
After I shower, I put on some comfy loose clothes from Niall's drawers. Then I went to check on my phone to see that it's almost 7pm. I took the laptop from the bedside table and turned it on. I put my back on the headboard with a pillow behind me and I put the laptop on a tray that we used for breakfast in bed.
When I logged in, I saw Niall's profile has a green circle at the bottom meaning that he is online. I was about to click the video call button but Niall's profile suddenly appeared on my screen. I answered the moment that he was calling.
“Hi baby.” Niall said waving his hand on the screen
“Hi.” I said also waving back
“How are my babies?” He asked chuckling at the end
“Well the one on my little belly, is healthy.” I said rubbing my baby bump
“How about you?” He asked me while he put on his airpods on so he can hear me louder
“Always hungry.” I chuckled
“Aw is my baby making you hungry princess?” He said doing a cute baby voice
“Pretty much.” I laughed
“Gosh! I miss you both so much.” He said running his hands through his hair
“We miss you too daddy.” I said trying not to cry
Then I heard him sniffle and it made my eyes tear up.
“Hey, you'll be home soon.” I said wiping the tear on my right cheek
“I just.. I'm the worst father and husband. I'm not there. I should be the one taking care of you.” He said cracking at the end
It broke my heart to see Niall upset. Even though we've been together for five years and married for a two years, I'm still not used to see him cry.
“You're not the worst husband or father. I know you are doing this for the best, for us and for our baby.” I said trying to comfort him “Look at the bright side, just one more month and you will be home, and together, we will find out the gender of our baby.” I said “So smile for me, babe.” I said trying to cheer him up
“Aw I love you so much princess! Thanks, I just get home sick that's all.” He said wiping the tears that is running down from his cheeks
“To make you more happy, want to see the ultrasound pictures from yesterday?” I asked
“Oh yes! Please.” He excitedly said
I grab the ultrasound pictures from the bedside table and showed it to him. I showed Niall which part of the baby is and he keeps smiling at the while I was explaining it to him.
Niall was still on and he waited me for to sleep. To make me sleep faster he sang me a lullaby. Hearing his voice always calms me down and drown me to darkness.
In the morning, I woke up and noticed that Niall didn't end the video call while I was asleep, but this time, Niall is the one sleeping peacefully.
“Sleep tight, babe.” I said while pressing my palm to my laptop screen
Before turning off my laptop, I messaged him that I love him so much and we'll talk again later.
