Episode 14
Mitch and Scott run to Avi’s apartment. The door is locked, but it ws cracked in half by the earthquake. They rushed inside and looked for Avi.
“Where are you?!” Mitch yelled, searching furisously through the whole apartment.
Then they saw it. The crack in the floor. There was debris and dirt everywhere. It was apparent to both of them that it had previously been much bigger. Maybe even big enough for …
“Do you think-“ Mitch looked at scott
“Yeah… I do……..” Scott looked back at mitch.
They started pulling away the rubble, but the crack was sealed shut. The earth had closed around whatever or whoever had fallen int o it.
“What can we do?” Mitch asked frantic.
“I don’t know, Mitch.” Scott is desperate. Despite the tensions with avi and eve ryone else, he knows that avi is still one of the best friends he could ever h ave.
The both stand there silently for a minuteand 48 seconds. The severity of the situation sinks in, like the settling of the tectonic plate miles below their feet.
